Awful first half. We're lucky not to be 1 or more down. Chaotic defensively, and absolutely clueless going forward. Dreadful...!
Consoling myself during the half time break by watching a highlight reel of our last CL campaign. Chalk and cheese.
One chance - and at this level, Eriksen has to do better from the edge of the box with a clear sight of goal. Sissoko seems to be bereft of confidence and ability in equal measure and taking him off certainly won't improve the latter, but frankly we need to make some changes.
On the Pre match interview with Bt sport, he was directly asked by the reporter if he was executing a "plan B", due to the choice of players that were starting the game. Funnily enough, the "plan b" he said he had, was actually "plan a" from the reverse fixture! So we're still yet to see a "plan b" from Poch. Ever.
Why are we relentlessly playing it out from the keeper, when Leverkusen are pressing? Lloris is crap at it and we're inviting pressure all the time. It makes no sense.
Seems all teams have sussed how to nullify Spurs. All they have to do is play the same way as Spurs and Spurs cannot cope with it.
We have been poor recently but that half is possibly as bad as we have played for over 10 years. 8/11 players were awful, I wont mention the 3 who were OK at this point for fear of jinxing them. Hair dryer and tactical changes please Poch. Play like that On Sunday and the goons will stuff us
very lucky to be level at half time, doing well to hold out against the superior team for now, but curtains if leverkusen start taking their chances, they have a much stronger bench as well
Or sit back so we can't use the pace out wide to get past them. Sadly if any team sets themselves up like this, we don't have the quality to intricately break them down in central areas. More and more teams have worked it out, which is probably a factor in why we can't score and look completely clueless.
You can't see us scoring a goal at the moment and I don't just mean tonight I mean in general. If Arsenal score on Sunday then it could be game over the way we are playing going forward.
Watching from high up to left of lloris' goal. Loads of pressure comes from either his poor distribution or our insistence of playing pointless short passes in our half. Better since Janssen came on though Coys
