I see what you have done here. You have worked up a trust between yourself and rival players. In previous games you have declared your role and it has turned out to be true when you were lynched. Therefore, when you are assigned a scum role, you will declare yourself as a good person, thus meaning that the rest will believe you and not vote for you.

Or the more likely version is that people just don't like you and want you dead regardless.
