Maloney misses out, Marshall's in, as is Snodgrass, despite being injured... please log in to view this image
Ta. I'll probably give it a miss anyway. I tire of these pointless matches against these pathetic tin pot teams.
Wasn't there another example of this recently? Someone who'd played for Trinidad and Tobago being touted for England or something.
Jamie Redknapp said last weekend that it was good to see 'young English talent breaking through at Chelsea', only he was referring to the 25 year old Nigerian Victor Moses.
That's funny but it's not the one I was thinking of. I'm thinking slightly less recent than that. And I think it was a pundit asking why some PL based player hadn't been considered for England until it was pointed out that he was from some Carribean nation and had played loads of times for them.
That was it. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/row-zed/harry-redknapp-insists-jamaican-international-7685339
We're ignoring the poppy ban apparently... England will wear poppies at Wembley despite Fifa ban, says FA chairman http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...ayers-will-wear-remembrance-day-a7393591.html
I know it is very rare but there have certainly been cases where players have played for more than one country at full international level. Ex Hull City player Jackie Sewell had played for England before going on to play for Zambia. Also I seem to recall New Zealand recruiting some players who had earlier played for Scotland. I don't know the full international rules but presumably a player has to become a naturalised citizen of their newly adopted country. I believe Petr Cech was (in theory) eligible to play for England despite having already played for Czech Republic.
