I don't think it's as simple as looking at individual talent and saying they'd look like world beaters. The chemistry still has to be there, to play as a team, no matter what league you're competing in. Did those three players look like world beaters against QPR in the cup? The standard is way off the Premier League for sure, but your standards ain't PL level, the table and your new record shows that. If you could pick your best 11, all on good form, every week then you'd be fine in this league.
Tel,your right the best 11 we have would stand a good chance in the premier league but we are stuck with players with rather bad attitudes who should be performing much better than they are and injured players who could make a difference.Add to this a manager who should be doing a lot better in motivating the players at his disposal. A little bit of positive attitude is called for all round, whether we get that with Moyes who knows. The next two games will define how we go from here but we need some spark AKA Burnley type spirit
Really depends on your owner. The TV money is much lower in Championship so he has to be prepared to take a gamble, spend the parachute payment and take advantage of the higher attendance money compared to the other clubs (as long as we go up!). We were lucky this year in that we had a significant transfer surplus to soften the blow so could probably do it for another year if necessary. If you don't get out in first year it gets more difficult as the finances tighten.
Exactly. It's a squad of players relying on somebody else to bring them together. There's no identity, no personality, no leaders, nobody to take command and set the example. It's a **** squad, one that will struggle if we go down.
