Having got home just after 10 and been on a high for 3 hours I thought back on the game. There were lots of positives, and Frazer looked fit (he was injured pre-season last year), strong and played Gradel superbly in the first 45. He shut him down so quickly and didn't give him a sniff until late on. He hasn't had many mentions tonight, but as someone else did say, his best performance for Saints. Very close to MotM
richardson lallana and connolly were our best players imo. i put a cheeky quid on connolly to be top scorer this season at long odds, so if he carries on this form and stays fit i may get a big payout
I stuck "close to it" in the heading for the simple reason that any of the players mentioned could hand been MOM Deano, Frazer, Adam, Corkie, Fonte .... Great ain't it
For me, Hammond deserves it not only for how good he was today, but also how much he surprised everyone and how much passion he put into the game. As you say, Frazer did well, and also must give Dan Harding credit for keeping the "best player outside the premiership" quiet. Fonte has a solid game, and I think Martin looked promising. Kelv made some decent saves, unlucky with the penalty. Lallana, Lambert and Connolly also played very well. And Cork, well, he looks fantastic! We have a good squad.
Frazer was very good today. He's solid and should be our no1 RB due to his pace and great defensive abilities.
Love 'em slim. That image is seared into my retina and I'd never particularly noticed him before. Still don't know how he didn't get booked though.
This is fun to read I sense a Not606 Saints kit modelling contest coming up! Would be interesting to see who fits into Jen's "big is best" and Fran's "skinny" groups
What about those of us that are.... Now how can I put this..... ..... A "little"** bigger than those two? < < < < ** the company reserves the right to hold back information relating to just what "little" really means!
No mention for Lambert??? Dominated the two centre backs in the air, distributed well and set up the second goal. IMO he was vital today to us going forward. They all played well as a team most noticably when we didn't have the ball always giving the opposition no time so it either goes side to side or backwards to the keeper. Was very impressed by this and I think if we can do this each game we will do well this year.
He got plenty of mention in the ratings thread after the OP gave him 6!!!! You are right, he was immense
