Kone was particularly at fault for Arsenal's opener at the weekend when Alexis Sanchez got ahead of him to head the ball past Jordan Pickford and Carragher questioned the defender's desire. "He didn't want to run," Carragher said. "He just walks about. They are playing Arsenal at home, who want to knock the ball about and he's walking. It's just a little thing but the fact he doesn't even run back to get back into position. "Why is he not part of that back four? Why is he not busting a gut to get back into his back four? You get back in, you open your body up, assess what's going on and see the runner, who was Sanchez. "Again, he wasn't interested in doing his job properly. Everton were interested in signing Kone during the summer transfer window and reports in the national newspapers have suggested there could be more interest in him again when the window re-opens, but Carragher thinks managers could now think twice about signing him in January. "They've now got a major problem with him and I hope other managers are out there looking at him, thinking he might be a problem. Totally agree, I do believe him and Moyes do not see eye to eye and as they are both stubborn sods things will not improve, which will be extremely detrimental to the rest of our season. Ideally, a spell in the reserves might bring him back to earth, however, with our injury problems this at the moment is not an option. Maybe we should consider recalling Coates, who in my opinion was not great but seemed more capable than what we have brought into the squad.
As much as I don't like Moyes, the poor guy is taking all of the **** for players like this idiot who just don't wanna put a shift in, for whatever reason. Moyes will probably take you down, or lose his job, Kone will be sold and he'll forget all about Sunderland, as soon as he signs his next contract. There's nowhere to hide with the Sky Cameras following your every step on the pitch, all you lot can hope is for him to be humiliated by this and want to prove himself as not being a total arse pie.
