A fair few first teamers in that Bolton team though. Mind you, the way we are heading, there's a few of our first teamers out there as well.

 

Just back from the game, strange one, City for me were the better team in the first half. After getting off to a good start with a really good goal by Olley, they created some good chances over the next 30 minutes. City nearly scored when their keeper made a good save from a deflected shoot which would have been an own goal, but they went straight up the other end to level through Perry. Within a minute they scored again when Taylor caught the defence napping. 2-1 to Bolton at half time.

Within 2 minutes of the start of the second half they went 3 -1 up when Taylor netted again. City tried to get back into the game but soon went 4-1 down with an own goal.

City pressed most for the rest of the half but without really creating anything decisive, and it finished 1-4 to the visitors.

Bolton had 5 first teamers in the team and it showed.
Weir for me was poor, didn't look interested.
Lenihan played the first half and did well, looked strong and composted
Tymon did OK.
Bowen tried hard but didn't have one of his best night, a mazy run in the first half was his best effort.
McGregor couldn't do much about any of the goals as far as I could see.
City continue to look weak in the centre back area.

Tymon did ok against Bolton reserves? That's enough for me, lob him in against Tadic and Redmond.

 

I'm sure Tymon and one or two others were just conserving their energy ready for Saturday...
