Guardiola is the only seriously celebrated current manager to be parachuted to a top job. All the other managers have had to work their way to the top and I think considering how Pep has managed to stamp his style of play on two of the greatest clubs in world football, then he has earned respect.
Despite him being a cock, you can't call out Mourinho without tipping your hat to how he got where he is. There's a book about him that talks about his rise to the top. Worth a read before berating his current celebrity status.
And with the 'parachuting', the managers are really the effect, not the cause. Mourinho and Pep are special cases, but for different reasons: Jose is universally acknowledged as a Very Good Manager who tends to wear out his welcome, while Pep could've spent a lifetime with either of his previous clubs, but seems to like the thrill of jumping into a new situation. For the rest, it's largely the fact that managers get fired with such regularity that the carousel is always in motion...if you're a good team, there are always established, quality managers on the market, because someone fired them after being two points below target.
Could have done with Snidders in yesterday's game to support poor old Romeo who was over run at times......just saying
Just imagine him and Romeu alongside each other. The CB's could have days off on match days! We can dream.
Yup, presumably you mean all the superstar managers. - Wenger was at monaco and grampus 8 in japan before going to arsenal - Conte was a success at bari (promotion success), atlanta (failure resignation), sienna (promotion success) before taking over juve (success), italy then chelsea - Pochetino you know about before yourselves and after - People have talked about klopp and mourinho. The only ones to have gone straight in at top level off the top of my head is pep and zidane. Even then both were groomed in the barca and Real B teams before dropping in. Oh and lets not forget Gary Nevilles failure!
He could indeed, just that he's not as good as Clasie at it, despite JC being anti-flavour of the month.
Watching Man Utd now. Poor old Morgan looks completely at sea. Where he used to control games he seems to be spending most of his time getting out of the way of his teammates. Earlyish days though. Plenty of time for him to make me look like a complete idiot.
Like a different player now. So sad. Let that be a lesson leavers. But, perhaps Utd is the real issue, because everyone looks dreadful!
