Good Morning Everyone, Another scrappy win at the weekend, albeit it turned out to be a comfortable result in the end courtesy of a great solo effort from Doukara who sprinted half way down the pitch, and still managed to bundle the ball in the net, having been shoved in the back by a defender. Let's spare a thought for Doukara! Cast into the wilderness after having a nibble at someone at the end of last season, but back with vengeance in time for Halloween. Thoughts? Surely, even the pessimistic among us have to admit we are 50% better than last season? We have some big games in front of us including Norwich, Newcastle and Villa. What can we get out of these games?
please log in to view this image Phil Hay @PhilHayYEP Graham Bean saying tonight that his evidence v Cellino in the McCormack 'bung' case still stands. As you were. Still awaiting FA verdict.
Good morning all.. Doukara is a strange one, each new coach seems to cast him aside only to rediscover him again somewhere into the season. We then get excited about him and after a few games he fades into obscurity after a string of average performances. Zilch points from Norwich and Newcastle and I believe we will be looking at best for a 6-10 league position. Two points or better and surely serious contenders for one of the play off spots? Would be nice to be approaching the new year and talking about strengthening to push on for a promotion spot rather than hoping to avoid a relegation battle.
Hey'up Elland, We've made improvements, defence, passing, determination, player quality etc, but the football isn't the best just lately, last 3 or 4 games, prior to that we lost to Derby 1-0. We have played better. Realistically speaking, and while the league position looks good, We let Wigan in at last minute to draw a game which we should've buried. Wolves, by all accounts we didn't beat'em cos it was an own goal. We didn't beat Norwich and had to come from behind to draw the game; we beat'em on penalties thanks to Silvestri, granted it wasn't the normal first team. Burton wasn't the best game in first half, we upped a gear in second to win 2-0, but the football could've been better. Those last 4 games show we won 1 out 4, or 5 outright if you count the Derby loss, and 1 was a cup game. I think Norwich will be out for revenge, if we're not playing at our full potential then Norwich could win it convincingly, hope I'm wrong though......
Good morning all on this welcome bank holiday. Will be interesting to see what we can get from the Norwich Newcastle games. One things for sure, were just as likely to win both as to lose them. Leagues as inconsistent as ever but we're one of The more consistent ones in it. Hard to understand Doukara situation. Is it just lack of fitness like he claims himself. Personally believe that's no excuse for any professional footballer. They've nothing to do all week only keep fit and get well paid for it
Morning All Wins a win, no matter how you get it. At the end of the season you need more point than anyone else. I'd still boot Doukara out the door in the Summer.
Morning all on the subject of Cellino v FL I can only see Cellino winning either now or after appeal. Beans evidence is tainted because of his war with the FL and his expenses and wages. Leaves itself wide open to upset employee trying to get revenge with malicious claim. I'm really pleased with progress so far as we can now win ugly, we can now hold at the back and keep a lead, we can now use subs in the right way and we seem to be well schooled in what the manager wants them to do in other words we can work to a game plan. All these things have been lacking. We are nowhere near the finished article and we need Roofe (Great improvement) to start scoring and we need Antonnson to score more as Wood is doing the heavy lifting. Our midfield is still short of class especially without Bridcutt and when O'Kane has an average game. Hernandez and Sacko can be match winners and we have a great defence but we need to score. Scoring early will be great as we aint scored before 25 minutes, and then struggle to get 1 goal. by scoring early we may find the pressure comes off Roofe and we roll some teams over for a change.
Nope. Catching up on a few overdue odd jobs, keep the mrs happy. Spend some time with the grandson, nothing very strenuous
Now Monk is getting different permutations, Wood/Roofe, Doukara/Woods, Doukara/Roofe!!! plus there is Antonsson, the defence looks solid, midfield is more balanced, plus Bridcutt to come back from injury, things looking a lot brighter at LS11.
Kin Bank holiday............again. One thing is for sure Eire, we shall not be steam rolled by anyone in this division this season.
I know where your coming from WW, but we also had a similar situation in McCormack when he was a bench warmer due to Beckford & Becchio, lets see how he performs for the rest of the season.
