I cant be the only one who is loving Championship football this season. Not just our lot, but the football in general. There are some mad results every week. Its great. Would never have imagined I would enjoy us hanging on to a 2-1 win against Preston North End in the past. Its bloody brilliant. I wish the Premier League was this exciting..

Today couldn't have gone much better for us really. Norwich and Huddersfield both getting trounced - did not see that happening. All of a sudden we have a 6 point gap over 3rd place (don't care about 1st vs 2nd, that may come in around April if promotion is looking fairly certain).

Amazing result, fantastic day for us. I thought we'd drop a point or two on 3rd today.

I agree with this thread. The club getting and keeping Rafa has been central to our happiness presently though.

I do get the feeling that Channel 5 and their pundits really can't stand us though. I feel that we're an unwelcome visitor to their domain of sub-standard humdrum, and that they'd like it when we pee off back to the Premiership.

I see that I sound a smite paranoid. Maybe it's due to that Mackem bell end they have on there..

Top of the league, yet only a 2 minute goals highlight package this evening.................... I make you correct. I've heard Gray on TalkSport and he can hardly disguise his distain for us. At least he'll be able to pass comment on his own team next season.

The Premier League isn't the be all and end all. I like the Championship because the hype is far less and the football is more 'honest', like football was 30 years ago. It also helps that we win a lot of course. But the TV coverage is appalling in all fairness.

Ha - yep i've been thinking the same. They are always like..oh yeah in other news Newcastle won today. Next.

Of course its fun because we are winning a lot but it is really great to be able to enjoy supporting thr team again. The last few years in the prem was painful

Some of us did say this would be the case <whistle>

The PL obsession and brainwash is comical. Football is football whatever the level for me. I understand some fans see it as the end of the world and say you have to be in the PL.

The Sunderland fans are saying it now - they are predicting a Leeds or a Blackburn. We won't spend any money and do on. They might stay up, they might not. They might spend money if they come down, they might not. What you always have to remember is to support your club regardless of situ and that there is one guarantee - your club will be playing FOOTBALL next season. The PL is not the only football in the world.

I do think that mentality is a bit of a hollow attitude to supporting your club. It's one thing wanting them to do their best and compete at the highest level possible, it's another thing to dismiss anything else. Inevitably you find you enjoy it regardless. I sure as **** didn't enjoy the last few years in the PL as much I am now.

It's good fun and the premier league is not the b and end etc. But from a quality stance it is better and that's why I do like it better. Let's hope our stay in the championship is only brief and we go up, strengthen and learn from our past mistakes. Rafa is making a legacy right now and results like yesterday are the type of results needed to win promotion. Hwtl!

That result has been coming for a while! I've only seen us play one decent game all season. Our defence is crap, midfield negative, one up front with no support. Alex Neil's lost the plot and by the looks of it the dressing room. On our current form you'll leave us way behind! I'm fairly pleased to see you doing well, always got on well with the Geordies!

Very good of you to come over, shows a bit more class when things have gone badly. I thought yourselves and Huddersfield are possibly the only two teams to have outplayed us for chunks of games this season (Wolves and Fulham beat us but they weren't games I'd say we were outplayed), to leave with no points was massive for both teams. I can't see you not being in the mix at the end of the season though I still love Chris Houghton from his time here (you will struggle to find a single NUFC fan who speaks badly of him, not sure how he is regarded in Norwich?) so like seeing Brighton do well. Genuinely hope you go up, just not at our expense!

I'm afraid Hughtons time with us was atrocious! So so negative, the crowd turned on him during his last home game, extended booing (unusual for us) "what the fu****g hell was that" being sung and a hail of things being thrown at him! Not very nice all round and for a man like him with dignity it must have really hurt, but, the club had no option after that.
Thanks but I don't think on current form we'll be bothering the the top six. Something drastic will have to change for us to do that. We are not in a happy place. Still we carry on supporting our club as usual. :emoticon-0150-hands

I don't know your manager well but from the outside it seems like he's done 'ok' but no better than that. If you go up you can't be overly confident of staying up based on his history - unlike say Burnley who have seemed to steadily progress with Dyche and if they go down (and I don't think they will) there's a good chance they would come back stronger under him.

If you get rid of AN I'd have thought you would be able to attract a good manager, Norwich aren't the poisoned chalice many clubs are. Man for man I would think you were comfortably top 6.

I don't think there's much chance Norwich won't at least be in the play offs. It's a long season and form will come and go for everyone.

I wish we had your confidence in us. Most of our support know that our board is too slow in making decisions and making managerial appointments on the cheap! We are what is termed a "community" club, we don't have the millions of most and are stuck out here in the football wilderness, so we find it very difficult to attract decent managers and players, when the board opens the purse we get hasbeens like Naismith for £8.5 million who has failed us miserably. But the general consensus amongst our fans is that we don't want a Chinese/Russian millionaire to buy us as we would lose our identity! So we'll be a yo yo club for the foreseeable future, wether that's a good thing or a bad thing I don't know.
I do tend to agree with a post on your site saying the Chsmpionship is far more exciting than the Prem but the pot of gold is not in the lower leagues!
