I think you'll find Mesopotamia was the region corresponding in the main to today’s Iraq, but also parts of modern-day Iran, Syria and Turkey. It did become part of the Roman Empire. But I think Rome was in Italy at the time Julius Caesar was born and when he was assassinated.

All I know about Italy is that Garibaldi invented some biscuits before unifying the myriad of nation states that became Italy. However I think it's still accurate to say Caesar was Roman or Italian.

No, that was Cesar Romero I think. He of "joker" fame. Him and Adam West came up with the idea during filming on the Batman TV series. As far as I know.

Italian ethnic identity predates the founding of Rome. Italic tribes lived in modern-day Italy alongside the Etruscans in Etruria (Tuscany) and Greeks in Sicily before the Trojans turned up and gave them a good hiding.

Also, English grammar and simple vocabulary is Germanic but complex vocabulary is Latin and French.
