Well done Chelsea they defended superbly & the wing backs gave them solidity as well as a counter. The early goal killed us & was sloppy but we played the ball around well & you just have to admit their team had a bit more quality & executed their plan well.
The early goal killed us, it allowed Chelsea to play in a typical Italian way by sitting deep and soaking up our possession and then breaking quickly on the counter attack. It's no disgrace to lose to Chelsea at any time and the match may have panned out differently if they hadn't scored so early. Not many teams could've broken them down today, they were like a solid blue wall throughout the match.
Thank you, the first half saw you have the lions share of possession but as you say you just lack a classy, clinical striker. I'm sure your chap will sort that soon enough.
What supporters? Stadium looks emptier than st Mary's on a Wednesday night cup game against Sunderland...
I know footballers are mostly told what to post by agents or whoever (as shown by Anichebe), but the amazing fans on show in that video really is taking the piss. All about money over there.
Got to give all the credit to Chelsea, they were the best organized team we have played this season by a country mile and are my tips to win the league.
At the end of the day, Chelsea were the better side and fully deserved to win. Once that early goal went in, it was pretty much game over. They sat back and we didn't create enough, didn't ever look like getting back in.
Hmm , take hazard away though and their not the same team, still think city have the best squad and should really be winning this league , I'd take 9th if you offered it to me now.
We weren't great today. Never in the game and, aside from Austin's offside goal, never really looked like scoring. Having said that Chelsea were easily the best side I've seen us play this season. Agree with Beefy really, we need another centre back, striker and probably right back (although I don't think Cedric is as bad as some do). Today was the first game Boufal didn't look that good but he may still have been feeling the effects of 90 minutes against Sunderland. Hopefully he gets another 30 mins or so on Thursday and starts next weekend.
No need for a meltdown. The last thing we needed today with the way Chelsea were set up was to lose an early goal. They`ll suffocate most other teams in the league too.
Very disappointing performance but hats off to Chelsea, great performance in third gear Our midfield was very poor and our two forwards starved of decent ball to do anything with Roll on Inter on Thursday.....We March On
