    Good post.

We also have the opportunity to improve the squad in January. Not sure we'll get another Jansson if we sign a CB, however, but fingers crossed.

Thinkgs are also looking better off the field. No more GFH. Fewer nasty newspaper headlines etc.

Every great journey starts with the first step. Here's hoping this season is a great journey - I've enjoyed the ride so far. :D

west Brom made that the model to build your club and stabalise it firmly in the prem. Stoke, Hull, Leicester plus investment from owners, Watford. Burnley, Wigan did it for years, Bolton did it for years but. Oth these clubs sacked a manager. Yoyo means£100m minium relegation means a season of £16m parachute which is way more than any club in the championship will earn, and they have 4 years of that to make sure they bounce back. burnley with Dyche, Hull with Bruce ..... Leeds will need to do the same unless billionaire owner

    Excellent assessment, Jammy.

2 other things I'd like to mention.

    1. I actually thought Burton were a really good team. They're a tall, strong bunch & like to dish it out. Jansson was targeted & took at least one in the face, as did Bartley (I think it was him). Most importantly, they had a game plan & stuck to it. 3 at the back, stuff midfield & stifle the opposition. They do this for all their away matches, & have a number of away draws as a reward. I think they only ran out of physical & mental energy at the end because we battered them relentlessly, giving us our chances.

    2. The ref. Got a lot of ironic cheers, and he earned them. Gave the most ridiculous decisions to them & ignored the rough-house treatment dished out to our players. Glory mentioned elsewhere about the East Stand linesman's dodgy decisions. We're not talking one or two here, nor did he have genuine reasons like being too far away to make a reasonable decision. Things were happening right in front of him & he only flagged if it went against us. He ignored various assaults on our players that would have got you or I the jail (ok, I'm exaggerating a wee bit). He got loads of throw-in calls wrong, but guess what - we didn't benefit from one of them - they all seemed to go Burton's way. Yes, I know, I'm biased, but you really had to see this to believe it.

Not doing a write-up myself. Main reason is that it was a very scrappy game, so most of the performances were reactive. Very little creativity, & understandable given the circumstances. Other reason is the painkillers I'm on. Had a huge smile on my face & had to be tied to the chair in case I floated away. Great fun! :D

The fecking lino missed an elbow to the chops that he was looking straight at from five feet away. First half missed their left winger offside four times. But flagged us three times when we were onside in the second.... Dodgy!

Someone threw a bottle of piss at him from the kop whilst he was on the byline for the penalty. It missed (sadly) but he pretended it hit him and made sure the ref put in his report... Expect to hear more about it.

Some fecker :bandit: was sat right behind him when he missed the four offsides and gave him some proper grief ( much hilarity round me) but the **** decided had had be strong and gave us **** all as a result. Even the ref laughed when he heard me shout to the lino asking if a leeds fan was shaging his mrs.

Afternoon all. Good win yesterday, and another clean sheet. I see mention of January & strengthening the squad. The priority as I see it is to get Jannsson & Hernandez on 2 or 3 year deals. If we can pick up a decent striker on a loan before buy, so much the better. But our priority has to be getting Jansson & Hernandez on long term deals

Never mind Monk Chippy, his position is safe for a while. What we need is certainty and progress with the squad. Jansson & Hernandez represent progress. But what we need is certainty for the rest of this season & into the next few.

If we dont give him a contract and another club come knocking he will be gone. Its a matter of days before sunderland and hull will be in the market and they can offer him far more money to him than we will.

That said, I don't think Monk would be in a rush to leave, as I think he can see the club progressing. So why leave?

Agree with Jansson but I wouldn't mind seeing if we could sign a better more consistent number 10 I'm not too fussed about Hernandez, I feel he should be standing out more.

I laughed out loud when I read this, Ristac. I turned to the guy next to me & said 'it's about time Hernandez got the hook, as he's done nowt for ages'. 2 seconds later, he slipped a magnificent ball through to Doukara that got us the penalty. Talk about bad timing! :D

Are you suggesting the leicester miracle was similar to what we did?
Not even close.... They spent millions over three seasons on squad and infrastucture we fought our way up and won the league with a squad that was assembled for buttons.
