I think Mourinho is getting on a bit. I think he's made too many enemies in the game that most people are gunning for him and he's lost that aura of invincibility. He used to command respect from everyone but i think after what the chelsea boys did after the eva thing has seriously affected him.

In the past he used to defend his players to the hilt, see chelsea stint one and the lads loved him. He was also witty and funny before but nowadays he's become a moody old git (although i wanted chelsea to give him a chance to recover) and he's more than happy to throw some of his players to the wolves (see shaw)

The other thing is, his brand of conservative football which was very successful for him has not been working for him recently for whatever reason. Even during our title winning run 2 years ago we started the season on fire outscoring everyone but he reverted to grinding out victories which only just got us over the line.

I think football has moved in since then and he's finding it hard to break teams down now that have more quality through the league. His plan has always been to steamroller the weaker teams and either sneak a win or draw in the big matches.

Hopefully he will have you guys back on track but i think we will need to see mourinho evolve before he will be as successful as he was

    Good stuff mate.

Can't argue with that, I just hope he builds something worthwhile here. He'll get time, that he has earned.

How has he earned it ? his first ten game record is worse than a previous manager called Moyes of whom you state is/was absolute rubbish ,i might add that i agree i also think along the same lines about Moyes but the stats speak for themselves , SPECIAL i dont think so.
You have the comfort of knowing he will spend the obscene sort of money once again to achieve the results , its all too predictable .

He's earned it by being a proven winner. Regardless of what you are hoping for Stu I watched that season under Moyes from the very same seat I sit in this season and I can tell you now the results may not be different yet but the football is infinitely better than Moyes' small club mentality tactics that belong in the sewer of football.

I'm not saying he's delivering right now, but there's hope and excitement, there was neither under The Boring One.

I do feel like Mourinho isn't the manager he used to be. I haven't seen any significant evolution or improvement of his methods over the years and he's gradually losing his aura.

I thought Simeone was the right choice for United and I still do.

Why is Simeone the right man for United in your opinion mate?

I admit I wasn't overjoyed at us chasing Mourinho but he's here, he will get my support for sure.

Yesterday it could have been 5-0 if it wasn't for an amazing performance from Heaton, the football we played going forward was incredible to watch at times.

That was my biggest worry about him, and it looks like it won't be an issue.

Essentially I think Simeone has the fire in the belly to get you up in those top spots. He's fearless and highly driven to win, he's also no mug tactically. I think he's one of the few managers who can take over a club of United's size and not be daunted in the slightest, in fact I think he'd thrive.

I'd love to see him in England and United are the best fit for his personality for me.

I think you're right about Simeone but I'd prefer, and this isn't an anti Man Utd thing, to see him stay at Atletico and break the dominance of Barcelona and Real Madrid in La Liga.

I like Simeone but he's very similar to the way Jose Made his name, he'll grind them 1-0's out. Their defence is probably the best out there. I agree with Norton, I would like to see him break up the Spain two.

I'd also like to see Simeone carry on breaking up the Spanish monopoly but on the other hand if he does come to England I'd rather see the young and aggressive Simeone rather than a potentially older and wiser version so sooner rather than later for me.

I thought there were strong rumours that he's leaving Atletico anyway, if United don't snap him up he could go to Arsenal. He's probably just what they need, I know they're doing well this season but they don't win much.

I think the Spanish media ruined him.

That's not to say he's not still a good manager. He's just lost that aura of being the best.

I think the media had a go at him, he had a go back, it made the rift worse and he developed a chip on his shoulder. He was a gobshite previously but he was inherently likeable. He's no longer likeable in the slightest.

His achievements will make him one of the best managers ever, regardless of what happens from here. He'll win more I'm sure but I really think that without that time in Spain he'd have gone on to unprecedented success.

Stu I'll give you more credit than comparing results like for like after 10 games and judging one of the greatest managers of the modern era on those ten results.

If you don't think he has earned the right to have the fans back him then I genuinely feel sorry for how football must seem to you.

You asked how he'd earned it.

If you weren't so averse to quoting maybe this would be a lot easier.

De gea to darmian to blind to rojo to shaw to rojo to blind to darmian to Herrera to rojo to shaw to martial to shaw to rojo to de gea to darmian.....Utd dominated possession whilst fenerbache had a cup of tea and a biscuit laughing at them pissing about Jesus Christ I do not understand that crap at all and in fergies words ZLatan is nothing but "a big time Charlie" not that Alex was special compared to the chosen one,one game away from exit .
Credit to him afterwards though he did say it was the players fault not his, still its nothing what another shed load of money cant sort in january. .......... ( averse ,great word,a perfect summary to be fair.)

Stu, please tell me where this little pearl of wisdom has come from, Zlatan being a big time Charlie according to Fergie.

It might be your style, as Sunderland fans to write off a manager after 10 games or whatever, but it's not ours. You're concerning yourself with nothing else on this board, other than Jose Mourinho. He'll get all the time he needs in the world to sort this out, unlike Moyes who'll be hounded out of the ground if he doesn't beat Hull, by the same crowd that pointed fingers at the 'powers that be' at United for not giving Moyes enough time.

Best fans in the world I keep reading, most loyal fans in the world, most passionate fans in the world... least patient fans in the world?

Not that I'm agreeing with Stu but Mourinho is your third manager in three years, there's every chance you could have a fourth in another year.

You can't say with any certainty that he'll have all the time in the world to sort things out.

I think with everything that's happened, unless he comes up with a sackable 'offence' I can't see it happening. The value of the club has rocketed, the boys at the top don't so much obsess over trophies as they do the New York Stock Exchange numbers. Not many fans will give a **** if we don't make it out of the groups of the EL, it's an embarrassment of a competition, that has nothing but detrimental effects to our domestic form.

So I disagree, there's probably not 'every chance' I'd say there's a very slim chance of that happening.
