The failure to account for how much extra trade is likely from those countries and the amount of trade that already occurs is hilarious. I works well if you pretend no trade takes place already with China, Brazil and Australia.

Absolute failure of understanding that a country closer to home will do a larger proportion of their trade with you than a country further away. Simply because transporting goods costs money and makes it less competitive in distant markets.

Some even thicker real bigots continue to deny clear evidence of an increase I increase in xenophobic attacks since Brexit. It has clearly given what proportion of the moron element feel,is free license to attack and abuse foreigners.

As usual, you continue to decry and deny anything that doesn't fit with your crystal clear right wing agenda

Convictions are meaningless in this context, as anyone with half a brain will know. And reports to some extent to. Yet anecdotal evidence from people like Steven, and from others make it clear that this form of abuse has risen sharply since Brexit.

Just because it wasn't reported, doesn't mean it didn't happen!...

    Rubbish!

We all have an element of eurosceptic in us.

Just that those of us who are not bigots and xenophobes, and voted out because we thought we'd get rid of the darkies and Romanians, without even considering for one moment any other consequences, used our brains to work out that the UK's best economic interests were served by remaining.

So we lived in shangri la before brexit did we? Brexit created the racists did it? <doh>

You're so desperate to try and lay the ills of the world at the door of brexit, and try to make me fit into your deluded pigeon hole you're pushing an argument that would hinder finding a real solution. <doh>

More Rubbish!...<doh> right back at you!...

Of course racism and xenophobia existed before Brexit. They've always existed, that's not disputed.

However, the evidence, both actual, and anecdotal is clear. It has given some of the moron element, who always have harboured these prejudices, the bravery to come out and openly insult, and in some cases aasault, foreigners

It's the job of the police and the law makers to clamp down on these idiots and make it clear that they will pay the price of unprovoked racially motivated attacks.

Apart from anything else, these kind of incidents, reported in foreign papers, can seriously damage the tourism industry that the U.K. Economy depends on.

People are not going to want to visit a place where they are made to feel unwelcome. And fear the threat of verbal or physical assault.

None of those are solutions to how these people think. What's your solution to changing the mindsets that create the incidents?

    No one is claiming this.
There was issues with tension caused by a large influx of eastern europeans. There has always been racial tensions based on colour or religion.

The palpable change is a widening of the net to include people simply for not sounding or looking English.
People from Mediterranean countries in particular are encountering a level of open resentment that simply did not exist in significant numbers before.

I'm sure much of it is people feeling emboldened by the referendum rather than a change in opinions.

I posted yesterday about research showing how a change in tone can change opinion and make people more understanding

Idiots like the ones I'm talking about are usually brought up with their prejudices instilled in them by their parents, their peers, etc.

How you go about changing the attitudes of people like that, I don't know. You can try educating them, but that's been tried many times before.

You might as well ask how you eliminate crime!...

It can have some limited effect if done well. Done wrongly, it can do more harm.

I know of a school that created a strong anti-German feeling among pupils after teaching about the world war as way of informing on tolerance.

The REAL threat to our reputation and tourism in the UK is ****s like you and the others who share your juvenile pleasure in decrying the country at every opportunity. That you bleat on and on about what a bunch of mugs most of the electorate are, just because they voted differently to you and how every bit of bad press is because of those very same voters is pathetic.

The truth is, you are a bitter old man that can't keep a relationship for more than 2 minutes (I expect the current mutt you are tied to will see sense and also leg it soon). Your piss weak blood is 90% vinegar and you take far too much pleasure hanging onto the shirt tails of snides like stanley. Grow a pair, form your own opinions and most importantly, **** off and die - soon!

    Thank you for listening :emoticon-0109-kiss:
