You could bring in Pep and you'd still be in the ****, as your squad simply isn't good enough.

You've been lucky to escape the drop in recent years and haven't invested, you're therefore reaping what's been sown by your owners.

Making Moyes the fall guy isn't going to transform that squad into one capable of competing in this league.

Your only hope is to spend very big in Jan

Fair up to a point. But if Sam was in charge they'd probably be above the relegation zone, just!

Oh, is that what the problem is? Well, thanks for letting us know. We'd all been assuming it was down to the planets not being aligned or something.
However, if you'd been paying attention, Moyes isn't being made a scapegoat. The fact is, despite the poor spending and the injuries, Moyes is failing to motivate the team and is tactically inept. We're going down with a whimper when the least we should expect is the team to at least put up some kind of fight.
But don't let that put you off next time you have one of your wonderful insights.

I quite agree. Moyes still isn't being made the fall guy though. He's exacerbating the situation so has to go, sonny.

He probably will go, and Sam coming back would suit all parties imo.

However, I think the game's gone mad if 10 games is seen as long enough to make your mark. He was let down in the window, his fate was sealed before a ball was kicked

Some of the signings were odd though, even if he did have a limited budget. His tactics are wrong, he himself looks like a beaten man, and he got excuses in early saying we're in a relegation battle in August. He's shown no fight and that's transmitted itself to a lack of fight in the team.

That's just it, I'm not having a pop at you.....you deserve better than a manager who is liable to walk out on you. Or rather, you deserve better than an owner who will eventually take you down. Short is no different to Ashley or randy Lerner....he's just been lucky that you haven't already been relegated.

The business that was done looked largely desperate to me. Barring Defoe you've got **** all up front.

He looks exacerbated. Today you were well in that game and then Giroud came on and you went to pieces in 10 minutes. That may well be his last game, if so, his reputation would be in absolute tatters.

Our squad was thin but injuries to: Catts, Kirchoff, Borini, Manone, Januzaj, Jones and Oshea plus the PVA incident have meant real problems as far as consistency goes. I know we had a couple back today but were they really fit? We lost JOS again today and everything went to **** at the back.

I would personally have Sam back but I do feel for Moyes, with 1/2 our best players out or not fit its a very difficult job.

If you lot think relegation is bad, try looking on our board and see if you can find any gloomy posts.
And were not happy solely because you lot are in the mire (admittedly it helps) but because we're winning nearly all our games and are now effectively 7 points clear of third place.

Firing Moyes I doubt is the answer, but he does seem a bit negative all the time.

You can blame the manager. Why is that under Sam these errors were cut out?

Exactly, it's funny how under a ****e manager individual player mistakes happen all the time but with a good manager they don't. There is a correlation.

If we could guarantee Sam's return and deal with the media vitriol against him - as we probably could not get such assurances - stick with Moyes

It would be problematic for sure but these things pass. Could we trust Allardyce to stick with us? Hmm. Well he wouldn't leave for the England job that's for sure.

There's the argument that it's only been 10 games, but if a manager loses all his 10 first leagues then it's surely unacceptable, and Moyes record is pretty bloody close to that.

And a once good manager does mean they're always that way - look a Brian Little great manager for Leicester, and challenging for the title and winning cups with Villa....then only a few years later getting sacked by Gainsborough Trinity in the non league. Moyes bad experience in his last 2 roles seem to have left him very beaten and jaded, he looks a shadow of what he was at Everton.

And as for the injuries argument, yes you might be down to the bare bones, but surely the bare bones should still be inspired to make an effort? Watched that cack you served up yesterday, and the difference to last season couldn't be more pronounced - Kone was immense last season and now looks like he doesn't give a ****. Also Khazri was a key player last season and looked a joke yesterday, ie instead of clearing it he decided to show off his dazzling ball skills in your box, then lost it Ozil who he fouled, resulting in him getting booked and a free kick to them in a dangerous position.

If this carries on for the next few games his position is surely undefendable, bring back big Sam is surely the obvious choice now.

Fair assessment, though I thought Khazri was one of the few players we had who looked any good. The incident that you refer to occurred because he was being closed down and couldn't clear it. None of his team mates showed to help him out- one of them should have taken a pass from him and cleared it. But they didn't, so he had no choice but to try and play his way out of trouble.
