Leicester? Granted it took one year longer but still. However, I do admit that the chances of even that happening are virtually zero.
Indeed. We are 9th but the substantive point remains that worrying about the nature if any premiership status would be a bit previous.
On the contrary, Im not at all looking ahead to the PL, yet. Just following on from the point of whether the possible partnership between Cellino and the Chinese could work. Also irrelevant for the moment I suppose
No wonder ll thinks you are other people. Leicester was great, but it was a fluke. No injuries and the usual suspects blew their own chances.
I'm not saying we are promotion contenders but it is clear to see we have turned a corner. A few weeks back Chippy you said I was getting ahead of myself when I complimented Bartley and Jansson as the best pairing in years, (rightly so I guess) you said too early to tell but even you must agree they are a solid pair now... Norwich and Newcastle, that will be our true test. If we come away with no points I would say we are on course for outside top 6 or possible scraping in to the last 6th spot. Not many teams are going to come away with points against those two so although the season wouldn't be over 10th to 6th at a push would be my guess. Two points or more from those two games and I would say top 6 is very possible and it would take a brace person to bet against it.
Europa league... If thats a measure of success then i would take failure... Cant complain about money ruinng football and then accept the greed is good ****e.
Leicester I agree was a fluke but it happened, I didn't want them to do it and thought they could quite possibly come straight back down but quoting a phrase "The Table Doesn't Lie"
Cant argue the cbs look good. But central midfield is average at best and we need better attacking options.
Looking at the past dozen years of being a Leeds fan, if someone offered me 12th in the PL and Europa cup football in the next 2/3 seasons I would bite their arm off.
The more I think about it, the better yesterday's result actually is. Burton have beaten the likes or Cardiff Birmingham and Sheffield Wednesday. If we can beat it whilst not playing well that is a sure sign that we are moving in the right direction and its club's who can pick up points whilst not playing well that usually get promoted
As confident as I was about Bartley and Jansson I'm equally confident Roofe is going to become a big hit. Short highlights I know but he is improving. For a team that brought in so many new players we did okay, some are very questionable but in all far better than the bunch Salerno and Cellino brought in. I'm also happy with O'Kane, Bridcutt I can take or leave but I don't believe this Leeds team is about any superstar player, it is small cogs making the big wheel turn. O'Kane made a difference when he joined, not because he is a stand out player, but because he had a role. Doukara isn't my favourite player but I don't believe I have seen a better goal than his for a long time, 99 other players would have went and stayed down, that was great composure and quick thinking to pull off what he did.
EIRE, Cellino knows the club inside out. It would take a new owner a good season to get to to the same level. We cannot forget that we will losing from memory I think it was a million pounds a month or was it a week. That tap has been turned off
Its why Im wary of him taking a back seat. This new lot will not give him much of a say if theyre buying 70% of the show
I am just not convinced that we are significantly better than previous seasons.. At the monent i have to accept the table says otherwise, but a couple of bad resultsxand we will be bavk where we were last season... Way too early to suggest this is a promotion team, even if we got up we are 10+ players and an entire infrastructure from being equipped for the prem
