We all have different views. My honest hand on heart view......we must win. Another 2 or 3 points dropped and oh oh at this early stage of the season.
Watford have had one shot in their last 2 games, which was saved by Fabianski, yet have taken 4 points from those 2 games. Just shows how much luck can play a part.
This is the point it is early in the season so even if we do lose at stoke it will be far from ...lets give up we are relegated... We want to win and i think we will win but if we dont then it's not the end of the season by a long way.....
But lose at Stoke and we then have Utd, Everton and Spurs in the next 4 games. At best for me (on current performances), we'll have 9 points come a 1/3 of the way of the season. That would put us on around 27-30 come seasons end on this sort of points per games etc.
Can't see us getting anything from this game and think not buying Allen will bite us in the ass. Can see him and Bony scoring 2-0 Stoke
I know not the right place, but got to love him, still banging them in. 20 in 9 games. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/swansea-city-legend-lee-trundle-12097491
A win would be fantastic but I'd be over the moon with a draw. Stoke, imo have the squad which could have competed for a top 6 place but for their very poor start. They come into this game with some form now so we'll have to be on our game on Monday. They're options in attack are scary with Arnautovic, Shaqiri and Bony all very dangerous. Allen is the Key imo, because he is the man who feeds them. Stop him and we starve them. A plus for us is that these guys are slow to track back so we could gain a numerical advantage on occasion in midfield to exploit. Selection will be everything for us. As I see it both Allen, in particular, and Cameron are nippy midfielders so Fer would be chasing shadows if selected, personally I'd give Fulton a start. We may lose a little, not much, up front if Fulton is selected but what we lose up front we more than made up for as Fulton challenges for the ball in midfield and tracks back efficiently into defensive zones in defence and with the three I've mentioned, we'll need all hands on deck to stop them and Allen. With Cork and Britton holding its Ki on the bench. Up front Loriente? he's a big target but Stoke are very ponderous in defence so BB could give Borja the shout. I'm not sure who'd be the best option In defence BB HAS TO select Naughton, Kingsley and VDH with either Amat or Mawson. Mawson seems to have more pace than Amat but Amat has more dog in him which we may well need ruffle Arnautovic and Shaqiri as neither like it up them. Also Amat knows Bony and we don't know if Mawson is strong enough to handle him. Its going to be our toughest test yet as we expected nothing from Arsenal and Citeh, which is exactly what we got. Stoke though we can expect something but we mustn't under estimate them, they are far more dangerous than their position currently predicts.
Hope we give Mark Hughes something to whinge about, smug git. If we stuffed them 5-0 he would not give us any credit!
I was mildly impressed with Mawson I have to admit. Considering he is young and new to the team - he was shouting and organising back there - something which seems to be missing since Ash left. However since Ash left we don't seem to be quite as bad at defending set pieces.....
VDH and Mawson played well together and must surely start. If we ever played three at the back then Amat would play. Like one or two others I would like to see what Amat could bring as a defensive midfielder.
I agree they have to start. I hope we don't have a 'Tinker Man' as manager. otherwise there is no incentive, if you play well you should be keeping your place and also we need to mould these 2 into what could be a very good partnership.
Mawson was impressive and looked very much captain material....We need a rock solid defence with the same players that can read their team mates like a book and know where they are without looking....we have had some really good defences in the past. I will always remember the telepathy between Smithy and Boundy in the lower leagues, they were brilliant together.....
