You keep missing the fact that since Watford came down from the PL Boothroyd has hardly being a success anywhere. NP's CV isn't top notch but there's enough o there to warrant him being a good manager (menitoned in my previous post). When Brownie came here he hadn't done much either (failed at Derby) but took us up, a glowing CV doesn't garauntee promotion. I can't believe you'd think we'd be better off with Boothroyd or without NP to be honest. It was up to the players to convert those hatful of chances last night, had they done so then you wouldn't be on here complainig about dour tactics would you?
Actually when it comes to grammar I'm quite knowledgeable. But because I've just finished my English language course, I really can't be bothered to make sure that all of my grammar is correct anymore as I don't need too. It's understandable to other posters which is all that matters. Not having civilised conversation, I'm really quite a friendly and approachable guy, but your football knowledge is really, really poor.
I think you'll find we're all city fans, only we find that the people in charge of the club are trying to do a decent job and recover from the mess we were in 12-18 months ago.
I suppose not, but Blackpool only had one chance less than us. Thing is though, we didn't convert the chances, why? Because of Pearson's poor tactics, putting his mate Barmby on instead of Simpson was an absolute joke, I'm pretty sure Simpson would have got one in 45 mins, but instead he got 10 minutes.
Dowie got promoted to the prem.. i'm not Pearsons biggest fan but just no way would replacing him with Boothroyd be any good for the club whatsoever
How the **** can you keep saying this?! SIMPSON MISSED THE BEST CHANCE OF THE GAME. You keep ignoring that fact when you regularly state that he should have been on instead of Barmby, yet he showed it was wrong to have him on at all.
I'm thinking more of the chance where Barmby was too slow to get to the ball as it rolled right in front of goal. No way in hell Simpson would have let that go, hell I'd even say McLean would have been in with a shout. Barmby should do the decent thing and retire. I'd have started with Fryatt/Simpson last night, no way Adebola's good enough.
To be fair I'd rather have seen Simpson on but it's incorrect to say Barmby came on because he is Pearson's 'mate', it was a tactical decision which I didn't agree with and nothing more.
Yeah because Fryatt's 2 chances, Jay's in the last minute and some other near misses were all down to poor tactics. Pull the other one. Matty SHOULD have converted those chances, that has nothing at all to do with NPs tactics. It's Matty's job to score goals whether it's NP, Sir Alex or Mr Blobby managing the team. Brady set up plenty of others (Dudgeon and Barmby just missing them with the Bpool defence clearing). I too questioned the decision of dringing Barmby on rather than Simpson, but Jay has recently being injured so the decision was perhaps based on that. Jay should have scored at the end, but it wasn't going to be our night regardless of who came on.
I'd have started with Fryatt/Simpson too, but Adebola should be used off the bench and is good enough at what he does.
Dear me. We both know that Simpson came on with the task of scoring a goal and he failed when given a glorious opportunity. Barmby came on with the brief of linking up our football and helping create chances, he did that and did it well. The chance you speak of was a gut-busting run to the box that many strikers wouldn't have bothered with. They're both good players, but to say the one who ****ed up should have been on longer, on the evidence that he will miss when given a chance, is just silly.
Hes a pro footballer for a reason, to be honest that's a disappointing comment and makes me think still that you don't understand football very well.
****ing hell, it's Dele Adebola, y'know the guy everybody said was **** until it turned out it wasn't a joke and we were actually signing him? I'd rather not have a player like that, reduces the temptation to play the long ball. Of course it doesn't help that Adebola still lost the majority of headers despite being twice the size of everybody else.
