Remember when Klopp had 30 league games to gain an 8th place finish, you didn't judge him because, well, it wasn't his fault. When Jose has had 30 games I will give you an update on how I think he is doing and we can compare notes :emoticon-0100-smile

Your comparisons are way out Diego, Klopp never had a summer transfer window, the season had already started when he took over, he hasn't managed a club in England before LFC.
Maureen had a window, was there at the start of the season and had Premier League experience.

As triff pointed out earlier, he's also had an open chequebook at his disposal.

With those things factored in Maureen looks like an imposter compared to Klopp.:)

Oh yes, i forgot you dont understand the difference between taking over part way through a season or before the start, you also clearly dont understand the impact spending can ( possibly should) have on the expectations of a club and its fans. taking this into accouny i think i might need to revise my earlier question:

Anyway just for the record, what are you expecting after 30 games for mourinho?

To be in contention for top 4, anything else will be a bonus <ok>

Part way through the season <laugh> 30 games out of 38
No pre-season but the team had one with a manager using the same tactics, high press and fast lads up front so no difference there.
No purchases, apparently he didn't need any in January so not really a call.

So, over a quarter of the season gone, not being Rodgers, and the January window with all its rip-off's and pitfalls is the same as the summer window.........<laugh>

Have you any idea how many bargains are bought in January, I know United have bought the odd one or two. When did you get Suarez, Sturridge, Coutinho etc?

Yep agreed that certain bargains are indeed purchased in January, but there are clubs that use overinflating player valuations because the buying club might be desperate for a particular player in a particular position.
Utd's open chequebook policy doesn't apply to all clubs as you know, but im off Diego, night mate.<ok>

so take a squad that finished 5th last season and was viewed as underperforming so badly that the manager was sacked, then spend a fortune and add a top manager and you only expect to be " in contention" for the top 4????????

I take it you are disregarding the fact at this point in time that one of last seasons top 4 look likely to be nowhere near those positions thereby already reducing the competition for utd.

In other words utd utd could have a mare but you would still be happy. As jim royale would say; fan my arse!

Last season quite a few teams underperformed, Chelsea will be back, City will be back, Arsenal are definitely improved, Spurs will be about the same.
We have no divine right of top 4 and will have to fight for it. We have a new manager (same as Chelsea and City), we are trying to bed new players in (same as Chelsea and City), top 4 will be a good starting point for all of us this season and I will be happy if we make it.
Fan your arse, no thanks. I am a football supporter with a tad of realism thrown in, have we got a squad capable of top 4, definitely, have 5 other clubs, yes, so we have to wait and see who makes it.
You lot are nailed on obviously, which is why I haven't mentioned you :emoticon-0105-wink:

In other words, you will make up any excuse for the club/manager under performin.

Its not about entitlement, its about relating performance to potential. This will be a familiar concept to most sports fans irrespective of the sport, what is most telling though is that to understand the potentential of a particular sports player/ club/ team you need to have knowledge of the sport and relative strengths and weaknesses of of others .

You appear to have no understanding of the potential of utd, I wonder why that is?

    I'd rather win a game 4-2 than draw a game 0-0

These days you're paying the refs less than ever. By revenue.

Of course we are, they can only work for one team at a time <ok>

(it's becoming clearer where the money for your cancelled new stand has gone now)
