I expect some of our developing talented players will get sold, either to mid/low level PL Clubs or to Championship Clubs looking more ambitious/ less caring about EFL's FFP than we seem to be, if we don't get to the PL this season. Players like Chery, Luongo, even Shodipo may well be more ambitious and want PL football if they can get it, or prefer to go to a Championship Club looking to have more in them than we have to get them up there. Of course they should earn us money to help finance new players, but the transition / major player turnover is not helpful to building the basis of a team capable of getting up. Of course our Squad is not strong enough to survive in the PL as it is now, it is rare that any Club in the Championship is at this stage, Newcastle are a possible exception. If by some miracle we should get up, player investment will of course be needed, but a much smarter investment than before.
Don't think there are too many clubs in the World that have thrown away £260mil, that only have a home ground capacity of 18,000 We have to be operating within FFP rules, as there is that possible breach hanging over the club, otherwise transfer embargoes would be slapped on us. And which clubs precisely are operating in breach of FFP rules, that you refer to ? And I think that is a tad harsh to say ambition is only reflected by the sums of money spent, don't think you could say there is a single football club doesn't want to progress and win games, and has ambitions of promotion.
