The economy will take a serious hit from this Brexit nonsense.

Unless May and her band of clueless idiots can restore some confidence in the economic future of the UK (highly unlikely!) then investment, both foreign and domestic, will dry up very badly.

The result will be a dramatically smaller economy, a lower standard of living. Gvt spending will have to be reduced due to drastically reduced revenues, etc. These effects will start to be felt pretty soon.

As to the currency, it's generally felt that the pre-Brexit level of €1.40-1.45 was overvalued. €1.25-1.30 is probably about where it should be. $1.40- 1.45 ish. At current levels inflation will rise quickly next year. The public will start to then feel the effects as their disposable income doesn't stretch as far as it did. Slowing the economy even further.

No, the Uk hasn't hit the ground yet, but it's rapidly approaching.

I really wish I could see something bright in all this, but it truth, I can't at the moment. To quote Jamie Gorman - CEO of Morgan Stanley, 'I can't think of one good thing about Brexit'.

This guy has always been in the leave camp, so no great surprise that he favours cutting our ties sooner rather than later.

Whilst I don't disagree with any of you comments above, the economic data coming out is better than a lot of analysts predicted predicted and as such should be some comfort to us all.
What happens beyond now is still mainly speculation. What's more worrying is other economic events (such as China, Germany's banks exposure etc.), which could be equally damaging to our economy.

And the relevance of that is?...

Here's your hero, from your own favourite rag!

Sounds like a wonderful bloke., perhaps you could ask him why he feels the need to dodge paying his taxes by using some scummy Panamanian law firm!?...after all, he is a billionaire...

Growth still positive, Nissan still building in the UK.

Although obviously this will likely fluctuate when article 50 is triggered - its still a big positive.

We've seen no immediate nose dive as predicted by a lot of people.

People are knuckling down and working.
