Yeah, shame he looked bit shaky from crosses on Tuesday during the game though.

Fair play that, wasn't really a serious bet from my side! I think given we managed to name only 1 keeper probably proves you're point when you think how many new keepers have come into the league in the years!! <yikes>

Just caught up on this, so in 3 years he made like 4 mistakes, that is pretty good considering what you have to face. Even Neuer, De Gea and Buffon in their "primes" have made at least that many mistakes during their peak and settled years.

Also doesn't show how many worldies they saved

Simon Mignolet can deal better with crosses than Karius.

It was an illustration that even the best keepers can have bad days, or as we where discussing, most keeper are shaky at first and need time to bed in. It was more to illustrate that karius should be given time, rather than a slight on the great peter schmeichel. I would not dare to question that mans ability, he was a wonder between the sticks. Neuer, de gea and maybe even buffon are always playing second fiddle to the man

Thats fair enough. I think its more of a case that even though the great dane made some howlers (not that many if thats all there is in 3 years), karius has looked pretty iffy in every game so far and even though he hasnt been pubished for his pretty big mistakes.

Obviously he should be given time just that it doesnt bode well.

He could be like reina who became a beast after being terrible at the beginning aerially or he could become the next mignolet who hasnt really kicked on

Thats the crack mate, you never know with keepers. especially from the continent, de gea is a prime example, he looked like another taibie when he first started, a few years later, he won utd the title.

I challenged people to name a keeper who hasnt struggled at the start of his prem carear, there was only two named the great dane and cech, i just found the utube vid to show even peter had his off days. couldnt find anything for cech, but i think he was solid from the off.

Can't talk for Cech but I can tell you Peter was quite dodgy on crosses and corners when he first arrived at OT (only for about 3 months though), the thing in his favour at the time was he had a very good defence in front of him, fullbacks that stopped most crosses and central defenders who cleared them (and corners).
The hardest position to come into from another (foreign) league is keeper, they are just not used to the aerial bombardment and physicality of the English game, the shot stopping and positioning is rarely a problem.

i agree, there is no league like the english league. every player needs time to settle, as a keeper though every mistake is highlighted.

Has karius done any worse than pogba, no both are getting used to the demands of a new league, but pogba is getting slated because of his price tag, and karius is struggling because of his position.

Pogba is getting slated by most, Karius is getting slated by some on here, Mkhitaryan is one of the best players in Europe yet can't even get on the bench yet no slating of him.
The change of leagues can be a real shock to some.

23 assists and 18 goals in his last season say's he is one very good player, only seen him in 4 short cameos and one full first half for us, he looked well off the pace.
I do have a suspicion that he has some injury/illness we have not been made aware of though, he was allowed to miss the Armenia internationals without any complaint from them and although declared fit has not even made the bench for us even the League Cup.
He is (on paper) our most technically gifted attacking player and was a personal pick of Jose, something is wrong and I have no idea what.

Clubs are very closeted, behind the scenes never get shown, (unless your brendan, and desperate). its all sound bites and media savvy nower days, but with the amount of coverage, i cant blame them.

micky seem,s a forgotten man for you, with "the zlatan" signing and pogba, he seems to have sunk. Out of the 3 of them i know who i would like playing for us.
