Not really that great but wasn't really hoping for much. The idea that Jim White was going to have enough information to get under her skin was unlikely, and while it sounds as if he gave it a bit of a shot, it was always going to be a matter of Talksport trying to appear balanced. As usual, Katrien has served up the biggest gaffe by insisting no Charlton fans be allowed to ring in today with questions, and Talksport have cheerfully sold her down the river by telling the fans just that. As with that silly visit to her parents, which while maybe fun at the time, but makes us look dodgy, turning up to make her look like a victim, so we now have a recording of Talksport (see CL on this) telling our fans that they agreed to a specific KM demand of no questions from Charlton fans. This two days before the Free Speech day organised by CARD. The painfull thing is that she was allowed to state on the airwaves that if she was incompetent, she would no longer be in her job, and no one at Talksport had the wit to point out how utterly badly we have done, on and off the pitch, since she took on her role as CEO. I will add that I think there is a lot of truth that if we had actually got a decent manager and the couple of signings we are missing, and were ripping teams apart home and away, the protests would be small or non existant - the club are always the ones that are fuelling the protests by being so incompetent.
If enough people complain to OFCOM TalkSport should invite views from the fan base, in front of a CAFC representative.
If results were better the protests would die away but we've still lost a significant portion of our fan base for other reasons. These thousands of fans, many of whom travel a long way, have felt disconnected from Charlton, even after following the team for decades in some cases. Talksport = TALKSH1TE. How to people listen to that rubbish every day? A proper journalist would have destroyed Meire yesterday. Jason Beattie, the Daily Mirror's political editor, is a big Charlton fan and he picked up on some of her lies. The presenter would have jumped on her repeated assertion - clearly written for her by her PR form Pitch [is this a case of The Bitch uses Pitch?...], that Charlton had a "very successful summer" in terms of recruitment. PMSL Would that success include useless Fat Harry in dugout, and Crofts and Foley in the midfield? She was allowed to repeat this lie because Jim White's brain has been frozen by too much Botox seeping through from his face and forehead, and Dim Danny Murphy never having had one in the first place.
