Not sure if you've been smoking some of Spurlock's produce but coming 3rd in a two horse race is properly embarrassing.

Especially after the "We're coming for you" carry on <laugh>

I think Fosse's irony went over your head, but there you go.

If you think coming 3rd in a two horse race, after bottling it to relegated Toon 5-1 on the last day of the season to finish behind Arsenal yet again isn't embarrassing, then fair enough. I suppose Spurs have made a career out of glorifying failure, you even have a mantra to that plastered all over your board.

We played out of our skins to get into that position and couldn't sustain it once the prize of first place was out of our reach. Disappointing but no way embarrassing. For real embarrassment last season see Chelsea's efforts - amplified by the fact that they managed to play reasonably well against Spurs and Arsenal while not giving a toss in other matches.

Of course it isn't! Spurs do fail better than most as it's been ingrained in your pysche over 55 years.

Well I agree with you that Chelsea made absolute mugs of themselves last season. Maureen's meltdown was something else, I've never seen a club self implode like that before. All rivalry aside, Spurs did have a decent season and you played some good football. As a Gooner though, it was as funny as **** to see you stumble at the last hurdle and hand 2nd place to us.

    Surely Blu-ray is less anachronistic.

  17. I have a fantastic one for Pixie, if he bottles the second challenge that has been put his way. He won't want to accept, of course, which is why a super-mod (as opposed to a wum-mod, which he is) will have to get involved, to force the issue.

Nice idea, PowerS, but that isn't possible. Pixie would have a job on his hands dragging Trigger (off Only Fools And Horses) down to his level.

I might have to start calling Pixie Trigger from now on.

What do the lads think? Answers on a postcard, please.
