So, how do people think the academy lads did tonight? Sounds like Isgrove was disappointing, but the rest did ok from what I can tell?
Luke Shaw getting a bit of a roasting on Twitter for being tubby. Also his brother seems to have been posting some rather ill-advised anti Mourinho tweets. Oops.
Tougher for youngsters to play in a team that doesn't include most of the first team. No where to hide.
Also on my stream [which is still going] the cameras and mics are still on prior to the interviews and you can hear the various reactions, including Moyes being very cheesed off indeed. The kids, interspersed with a few seasoned pros, did a job tonight. 1-0 will do and that's what they did against a Sunderland side who wanted this one badly.
They did fine. These games are always a bit disjointed and tough to make any real judgement from, but nobody did too badly (though as you say, Isgrove did look a bit lost) and nobody really stood out.
****e game and then a worldie from Boufal. Reed played very well, Isgrove did not. Look out for me on the replays of the goal, I was sat directly in line with the far post it went in, about 5 rows back
Yep. I'm sorry to say this, as I hate criticising particular Saints players, but he looked out of his depth. It reminded me of a game that Anders Svensson played years ago when he couldn't string a single pass together all match and in the end called the bench to be taken off. Isgrove didn't do that but he was contributing so little. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he was really nervous. However, if that's the best he can manage then he won't be a Saints player for too much longer.
Hearing that the West Ham and Chelsea fans agreed to meet a mile away from the pitch. Unfortunately they didn't realise that was still in the stadium.....
