The level is higher but no one will convince its not possible ... look at football results regardless of levels ie: the championship today ... a few turn ups
I genuinely feel we have goals in the team with Bothroyd, Cambell and Tarbs, but I really worry about the defence!! Even Kevin Davies getting on the end of crosses next Saturday fills me with dread!! I'm hopeful we can out-score enough of the teams that we need to get results against which may just keep us up. But we could just as easily go straight back down....between 15th and 19th for me!! So frustrating with such rich owners!!
Pretty much with you there Col. We need to sharpen up the passing dramatically to have a chance, but there are only a few teams that we need to beat to stay up.
What the F*ck does that mean? I don't think they'll go down but I think they might? Well I think we might go down but we might stay up and we might finish in the bottom half but we might finish in the top and we might score loads but we might score none ..... Have you got a problem making decisions, DL?? Its called Decidophobia, you might want to get that looked at.
Before I started visiting this board I was quite optimistic, but now I've been infected and think we will go straight down to League 2. Seriously, we have to finish above 3 of Wolves, Blackburn, Wigan, Swansea, Norwich, WBA. Not easy but possible
If I said QPR cannot go down this season I'd be a liar, but I don't think they will go down this season. i.e I think you'll stay up The way the question was worded confused me.
If the question is based on the current squad we will finish 20th by a distance. Some of the predictions on here make me think they've let the lunatics out of the asylum. Warnock is a dead man walking due to the lack of funds, as Rodney has said the failure to invest means he'll be under results pressure straight away. I said on here five or six weeks ago that the Goons were starving Warnock of funds to give them an excuse to get rid of him early in the season when we lose a few. The smokescreen of the takeover that wasn't has given the Goons a bit of time to take the heat off, now we all know Fernandez is just another stooge I really fear for what is in store for us.
I agree, we lost in the cup, lasts season to a league 1 side but after we didnt lose a game for ages. I think 17+
I dont think we will defeat that many teams 6- 0 5- 0. We will probably want to tone it down to not embarass anyone
All the indications suggest we will be keeping our young players as opposed to loaning them out. If we loan Bertrand out my preference would be for him to go to a club like QPR that is fairly local and playing Premier League football as opposed to a Championship club.
Have faith in reality Blackpool only went down last day of the season, anything can happen, we must keep the faith
Doomers: sensible lads looking at facts, Things can happen and we will have a great go ... a few 5-0 or 6-0 nil defeats i have noted ... that is no way to support the hoops. OK week one but all three promoted teams to the championship won ... its about results ... i can see QPR having a great start maybe even 7 points from 9 yet then the doomers will say yeh but we haven't played anyone yet ... you build a team from within NOT by chucking millions at it .. it doesn't work .. Man City know that maybe know they are getting balance ... NW will get the most out of our team and if you see us losing a few 6-0 nils etc then watch machine football
Someone said that all this negativity is bringing the mood down and that's a fair point. I really hope we all give the boys massive support on Saturday...they're going to need it!!
For the first half of the season you'll be an unknown quantity - some sides will be wary, not wanting to get done over by a newly promoted side and this could play to your advantage. Second half will be harder as your weaknesses (all teams have weaknesses I don't just mean QPR and newly promoted sides have the players not up to premiership exposed) will be exploited. I've some experience of what I speak as we were a yo-yo team for years. If you can take advantage in your early games and strengthen at Christmas I don't see why you should be excessivly worried but if you do not replace struggling players and/or have some depth then it could be a tough battle in the new year. Anyway good luck (usual caveat about apart from against us )
