Tel is right, there is only so much that a manager can do and the players on the pitch have to take responsibility. However, someone has to lead them and that is the manager's role. Moyes isn't a bad a manager but I don't think he's the man for the position we're in. Its so bad that we need someone with di Canio-like self confidence. Someone so arrogant that he'll tell the players he'll drag them out of it. Moyes can't and won't do that- he's not a big enough character.
You always need leaders on the pitch mate, you just don't have any. Some will argue Cattermole is a leader, I'd argue he's more like a passionate fan on the pitch, it doesn't make him a leader. Shouting doesn't make somebody a good leader. Being a good footballer and organising the team so everybody knows their jobs, nobody switches off, all details are being covered, people are picking up their men at set pieces, not letting heads drop. Everything. Watch Darren Fletcher for WBA and then watch Cattermole, the difference is incredible, one is a leader the other is a passionate footballer. There's a reason Fergie loved that scruffy Jock.
