Probably will always be remembered for 'that' goal against Italy in the final of the World Cup in 1970. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37767301
You're not really in any position to be passing judgement on credibility given your behaviour on here over the last few days. As demonstrated again by you trying to create a spat on a tribute thread to somebody who has just died. Do us all a favour and keep your nonsense off of this thread
You're clearly still reeling and see my courageous behavior in a bad light as it led to you being plucked like a turkey. Way to sell out on your beliefs though mate
I wouldn't try and come across as having any sort of principles here Piskie You've shown how prone to change they are
Have you got any comments to make about Carlos Alberto ? The Brazil team that won the 1970 world cup ? or anything related to the thread ?
That goal against Italy is still right up there as one of the best ever. International / domestic anywhere.
The Brazil 1970 team is the best international team I've ever seen.It was a privilege to watch them. RIP Carlos Alberto
Sublime in every way. It had everything, slick passing, dribbling, a rifle finish and all done with stylish swagger
Before my time, but that team is the standard bearer for style, class and skill in the World cup to this day.
That was one hell of a team, Brazil 1970. Pele, Jairzinho, Rivelino, Tostao, Carlos Alberto, etc al. Very simple philosophy. 'We don't care how many goals you score, we'll score at least one more!' . They were right too!...
That's football played the right way for me. Entertaining and attacking. The complete antithesis to Maureen's park the bus anti-football.
Yes, I remember it. We were the world champions at the time. They beat us only 1-0. But, had it not been for Bobby Moore, and still one of the greatest saves of all time by Banks, it would have been more. Italy were utterly destroyed in the final!... They were irresistible!..one of the all time great sides!
