yup... must be a dark place sitting about playing video games on 150k per week like... why should i empathise when he's got zero for others. while he's taking his 150k im struggling with constant back pain trying to save up a house deposit and hating my useless job yet i know i'm bloody lucky....
And you say that just before we play palace - bogey team, at the place - bogey ground against alan pardew - hates us and and a bit of a bogey manager, oh and benteke who always scores against us and will have the curse of the ex on his side Jinx on jinx on jinx
Sometimes a reputation is hard to shake off. Any other player and we'd all be sitting here lapping it up, saying what a good performance it was. As it's Sturridge, we look for the faults to use it as a stick to beat him with.
I think people forget Sturridge played in one of the best forward three line ups i have ever seen who also played the high press granted it was alongside Suarez and he who shall not be named but he still was pretty damn awesome that year.
I know! We're all sober feminists now....I should be disgusted with myself for looking...might beat myself as punishment..........
I know, and now wages are being brought into it I prefer to enjoy the performance and result to be honest - as usual our downfall is likely to be our crazy expectations, Being joint top and in the quarters of the LC, unbeaten in 10 simply ain't good enough
The money can't make you stronger mentally or physically. Its not like he can use the money to stop his injuries or stop feeling down when he plays badly or gets slated in the papers/by the manager/by fans. Having money does not instantly make someone happy, especially when they are struggling with their job (injuries, bad form etc.). Its a really childish viewpoint to say so and its similar to when I hear non-football fans saying people should be able to score a penalty from 12 yards for the money they are earning which is a really ignorant and stupid thing to say.
Hate the argument where fans say they can give abuse to players and they're paid enough to just take it.
I've been wanting to say that for days but it wouldn't be accepted by me I also seem to remember he did ok without Suarez too during his ban at the start of the season.
Because he's supposed to be that good...as pointed out...we can't lower the bar on him just because.... No other supposedly world class player gets that bye...feck sake I watched Messi being savaged last week...and rightly so...how many did he score? And why was he savaged?
He's always done alright ffs, he's goal scoring record is right up there with the very best in our extremely proud history. **** knows what people's problems are - to get a more balanced view from a manc just confuses me even more
Sturridge is a very good striker, Suarez made him better as he does with everyone. Sturridge isn't suiting our formation at the moment but maybe taking him out in the League and giving him a game here was good management. I still think he can do well for us and play a big part in a long season.
Lower the bar Frank? Come on - you know as well as I do this poor **** don't get a fair trial with his fans
Course you can, we need somebody to count the cards and penalty's not given. We are so lazy on our board and Astro is unfortunately banned.
@Diego is OK, he posts with that Manc tinted glasses view but deffo tried to talk footy, always good to get an alternative view. Even though it's Manc nonsense.
A lot of our fans have just never taken to Sturridge and I don't really understand it, tbh. Even when he was firing on all cylinders there were those ready to jump on him for the slightest mistake. He scores two and his goals win the match yet still some concentrate on the ones he missed.
