I don't call him lazy. He's one of the few players I can accept not chasing lost causing or pressing everything. I think he's been told not to do it too because of his injury problems. Doesn't help his Liverpool career though. No room for sentiment.
Yeah its pretty hard for a mere mortal to understand the trials and tribulations of a 150k per week player.
It's just the word. Lazy, to me, means can't be bothered and isn't really interested - I don't see that in Sturridge, he's just got a languid style. It annoys some fans, but he's never going to run around the way some others do. It's for this reason that, despite his goals, I don't see him fitting back into our preferred 11 unless there's an injury.
Oh, 10 games unbeaten as well. Loses like the one against Burnley happen throughout the season, the best teams have a positive response. Fair to say our response has been first class since that day, we're very much a club on the up.
I think part of it is not wanting to do it, also because he's never had to do it plus the injury issues make it a bad idea to do it.
Studge would be easy down the pecking order for me. Thought he was poor bar the goals. I know that's why he's in the team but on that basis, he should have had about six goals! Edit: although I will credit him for being in the positions to miss them
Maybe lazy is harsh. But compared to his competition for a starting place in the first 11, he runs lessons has less sprints....by some way. If he did both as well as the others am sure he'd start as his finishing has never been in question.
And our "b" team beating another top pl "b" team....it's the way it should be if you want to be a top team. Oh and playing ....sorry puppies just came on screen for la Liga awards lol...I forgot what I was saying...
I would honestly have liked to see Ings for a full half (I know studge got the winner) just because even with so short a time but he has the energy, link up etc that puts him ahead of studge under Klopp but not the finishing...you could see that when he missed....except he got a third of the time to do it in..studge got to miss a lot tonight.
Yup agree. General play he was meh, origi was better. But without his 2 goals we don't win. Id take general poor play and scoring 2 winning goals
Dem Spanish. Can you imagine any of our football programmes festooned with glammed-up totty who probably have no interest in the game just there to grab an audience? It's weird enough we wheel Riley on now and again to look out of place and reel off a few stats.
Sturridge finishing was a little off but played well - good movement and link up play. Origi was possessed in the second half, and can't help but feel if he can pick up from last season, he will be the long term number 9. TAA Is the one for me - I feel he could be our starting right back within 2-3 years.
Didn't look too lazy for his first did he? Very sharp and determined. And despite missing a couple, great run and finish (if he wanted it through the legs) for the second - determination again? Just think for some reason a lot of people won't have him no matter what to be honest. Do him the world of good to go somewhere he's loved I suppose - I'll be sad when that happens
