Great thread Monty. I'm not sure if the Football League have any say on imposing points deduction to a Premier League team though.
No wonder people barely use this place now when folk cant be arsed to share the story. Don't worry, I'll read the story when I do my news round up and keep my opinions to myself.
Just what has happenned to this board Bri? I commented on your West Ham thread on how few posts there were, it can't purely be down to the fact you're struggling surely? This is always one of the first boards I come and read after ours and it seems be going the same way as the toon one recentlt (dying a slow death). Shame really as I think this is one of the better ones on the site.
There hasn't really been anything significant on the board out of the norm, I think it's down to David Moyes and the negativity that comes with him.
It's been on the decline for a very long time. I was told I was talking bollocks but now it's become so blatant the state of the place there's no hiding. All lot of great posters don't bother anymore. A select few like me, Com & Defive would heavily stimulate the board but all three of us have lost interest. For me it's part football, part being the target of a drunken arsehole. My interest in the place has just dwindled(even though the arsehole himself has lost interest in the place damge is done, lost my passion for the place). Nobody has stepped up to stimulate the place. Roger and Tees as well as a few others still start threads as they always have done but their time here is limited. Someone need to take the place by the scruff of his neck and get it going. Needs dedication though.
I've tried to start a couple of controversial threads just to get a bit of debate going, (maybe rather feebly). I've nowt to say atm about football as we are ****e.
have started a few threads recently and replied to a number. These have been mainly football related. Most of the threads I have started (aye not as many as the regular posters),appear to be poorly responded to. However the thread I created on Old pubs and clubs in Sunderland did stir up a lot of interest and response. It maybe because although I have been a member since 2013,I have been an irregular poster. I may be wrong but I sense a kind of " not being part of the regular clique",therefore the poor response. Do hope that I am wrong and hope that nobody takes offence with this. It may just be a case of the whole board is and has been in decline for some time
Do you know Billy for all the years I have followed the lads through all the **** times I have never been less enchanted with the club manager and players than I am now I haven't read a single match report watched any of our matches on television and start newspapers at the front ( I still listen to 5 live though every week ) I can just find nothing there to stimulate me one iota and what ever Bri says about being in the prem I know where i was happiest between the last 5 years and getting promotion from division 3.
It may be that he does not know how to share stories - I don't! I think that what we both have in common as we belong to the older generation.
Of topic will always do better when the footy is ****e. But again. People will always leave, but people join too and that's how the board keeps going. Now registration is ****ed Number will only continue to dwindle.
We don't have to be a yo yo club to enjoy football. We just need to be able to compete. I'm far from happy with the situation. In fact I've been very vocal and critical about the state of us. But relegation does not equate to a promotion the following season. It could ruin us. If you think we're struggling financially now, two season's out of the top flight could see us in a administration situation. Best way to avoid all that was to invest in the squad. I've no desire to go down, not in the slightest. For the absolute good of the club.
Well it looks like we do have to be a yo yo club to enjoy football because nobody has enjoyed the **** thats been dished up in the Premiership but they all seem to be really happy when we are chasing promotion also there is nothing wrong with being in the championship if you are building a good young side with the desire to get promoted and you seem to think a multi billionaire will let us go into administration I don't i think so when he sees how exciting it is he will be much more inclined to invest in the squad. We differ in the fact I love the championship and hate the ****e thats dished up week after in the prem but if you think its better to watch dross week in week out because its in the prem rather than winning some games in the championship good look to you mate.
The reason it's quiet on here is because we're doing **** and it's depressing. It's not like it's every now and then it's every week. If results start picking up then people will post more and it'll be more lively, there's no need to start digging a grave for the Sunderland board.
I've just got better/more important things to do at the moment. Busy as **** at work, birthday season (for majority of my family, all fall within 2 months of each other) and me and the Mrs getting married. Couple the above with the dross we're being served on the pitch, the negative persona of Moyes, the unrest over the ownership I don't have a great deal to say tbh. Such is life, ehh?
Have you just ignored everything I said? I clearly stated I'm not happy with the situation so don't be a dick and put words in my mouth. As I said, we don't have to be a yo yo club. Running the club right and consolidate properly and installing a spine would make it enjoyable. I wouldn't rather bounce between leagues and risk administration than be a regular mid table premiership club with outside chances of europe or winning a cup. No way. You're mental and only will to see what you want to. Rather end the conversation and get back to not posting until I can get into a decent conversation.
