Janssen has no support so you can understand why he is getting frustrated. F*cking hell im getting frustrated! Nothing looks like it will stick going forward Niall Quinn to be fair hit the nail on the head with what he just said
I can see the logic of having Carroll around, as it makes sense to have solid and unspectacular squad players who can come in and do a job when required, as the likes of Wes Brown, John O'Shea and Jonny Evans demonstrated at Man Utd over the years. The issue is that, while the logic makes sense, in practice nobody can describe Carroll as a solid backup who can be relied on to do a job when called upon.
1-0 HT. Lots of the ball, but creating very little and looking dodgy at the back. Need to get our final ball right and support Janssen more. Annoying and frustrating half.
Yeah we do lack creativity....it's slow motion in the last third...but Pool is not laying a trap..they not that intelligent.
I think we can be bothered it's not through lack of effort. Just sloppy at the back and a front 4 that looks like it hasn't played together much
Agreed with this. The difference has been that Pool are vastly more experienced going forward with Sturridge, Origi and Wijnaldum.
Never thought I'd say this but we need Lamela on. Carroll can come off as he's simply not linking up with Janssen. If Victor hasn't got his shooting boots on (as always) then at least he can hold the ball up for a run into the box
Redknapp and Sounness talking bollocks about their goal. Vorm doesn't bottle it or slip, he's distracted by their offside player and he reacts to the deflection. He makes a move to where the ball's originally going and then has to try to recover.
I still believe Janssen will come good. This season if he can find his feet then the goals will come. He's only 22 so has plenty of time. Yes there are things to criticise but there is so much to like about his game
Tickled by the irony that broadcasters think that Souness and Redknapp is a balanced panel, given the latter's minimal association with Spurs in the Autumn years of his career. The reality is that you'd think Liverpool are playing North Korea based purely on the tone of their comments.
Where's Pav playing these days? Maybe he fancies a January loan move. Janssen looks set to be our next Bobby if he doesn't buck his ideas up
