Think Yoshi will be in a one-man team if he plays tonight. As for tomorrow, he could fill in at FB. Stephens in at CB.
Well I wouldn't mind a few more Saturdays. That's three Sundays in the last 3 weeks, and I've had to miss the two home games as a result. Still, I did squeeze in a trip to Milan in the middle there, so not all bad.
We have to master the art of getting the spherical object into the onion bag....however nicely we play, we can lose to the odd goal (as we have found). Over the season our defensive/possession game will work out well, but sadly it may not be good enough in one off cup games. It must be giving Claude sleepless nights. And why the hamstring problems...we used to laugh at other teams and criticise their training methods and competence of their sports scientists. Just coincidence or something we are doing now that we didn't do before?
Anyone going to the Farmhouse before the game? Can you make it, Fats? (Just seeing if I can park in "your space" )
I'm going. Must admit I'm struggling with the Sunday St Mary's, Thursday Milan, Sunday at home watching on TV, Wednesday St Mary's, Sunday St Mary's too. God knows what the players go through As as aside, we are considered plastics if we don't go, whereas for the team it's 'squad rotation'.
Not seen it mentoned anywhere but what about the RB who looked useful in pre-season, Yann Valery? Could possibly give him a game to rest Martina
Although his eyes were still bright, I thought Martina was getting towards exhaustion late on against Man City. He still ran willingly though. Near the end of the game, Saints broke forward at speed and Martina ran into the old inside right position, the furthest player forward. Sadly, Bouffal was dispossessed and it all came to nothing. Martina could barely get back, poor bugger.
I am travelling down for this game (on family visits whilst down in sunny Southampton) and looking forward to seeing what team CP puts out
I was going but as I'm unable to buy a ticket in one of my usual blocks am dithering. Are they only opening up certain parts of St Marys for this one? Shame if so, could've been a good one for season ticket holders a fiver and kids a pound. I know it would cover little more than operating costs but good publicity and get a few new kids 'into' the Saints.
Its such a tough one to answer TLL - maybe we give Olomola a run-out for half a game - or play just the one up front - CP seems to have a great knack of rotation - you'd be best off asking him rather than a couch-expert like me!
I need to see if its on TV here! However a 22.45 kick-off here is damned late for me - but know I will end up watching if its on!
Going by the players left out of the U23 game yesterday, if all is going well towards the end of the game tomorrow we may get to realise the dream of half the team on the pitch coming from the acadamy.
