My Uncle moved to Poland so I'm going to see him for a bit.

    Not sure where, or when.

    Hope that helps.

I'd give Prague a go. When you going?

It's just stunning in winter and the have loads of markets leading up to Christmas. Just stay in Prague 2 (old town) and out of Prague 1 (new town).

I've not been for a decade but how bad can it have become??

I've been to both a couple of times and it beats Budapest.

    Beyond that, Munich.

    Come down to Leicester mate.

Plenty of Pubs and we've got a McDonalds AND a KFC within walking distance of each other.

    You'll have a great time.

Just read you said next month.

Prague will be lovely, especially if you get snow. The tree will be up in the old town square, markets the lot.

It's lush man. The beer won't be as cheap as it was but it's superb and you can still find cheap stuff in beer cellars down alleys etc.

I've a couple of guide books I can post you if that's where you decide to go.

Mark Morrison should be knocking about somewhere too, if he's not doing a stretch.

Most people I know that have done both say Budapest is better. I thought Prague is just stag parties and hookers??

Think we are going to book it tonight. Really wanted to do an airbnb, just feel a little uncomfortable about it. You can get some great apartments for like £45 a night.

It's definitely not just hookers and stag do's. Not in the old town area anyway, I can't speak for the new town. Only went into the area once and it is a bit on the **** & seedy side.

Just avoid it, the best bits are not there.

Budapest has some dour bits too.

Will have a little look at Prague tonight before booking.

if I can get there from Birmingham and the flights are cheaper it may win.

Prague is almost 2 different cities in 1.

Like Chief said the 'old town' is great. The 'new town' is just hookers and stag do's. ****ing expensive too, ridiculous. Went on a stag do, nearly spent a years salary in 4 days.

    Nice place though.
