Heck, I don't know if this is the right thread, but anyway. Prior to 1962, poking fun at the Queen, the Prime Minister, and/or the Church of England was strictly frowned upon. And then came the four young university students of "Beyond The Fringe", then "Monty Python", and a new kind of satire was born. Here's one of those four guys, Alan Bennett, doing his bit with his take on a C.of E. vicar doing a sermon "Take A Pew"......."but my brother Esau is an hairy man, but I am a smooth man": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOsYN---eGk

In these turbulent and rather unhappy times we all live in nowadays, let's have a bit of the Gypsy Kings with my favourite rendition of Volare: Gee whiz, some of those lasses in the audience, WOW! .....and something slightly different from the Gypsy Kings - "Moorea" - from a concert at the Royal Albert Hall years ago:
I don't have a religious bone in my body, but I never get tired of this piece of art. The breathlessness of the organ piece was stunning. I have some "faith" friends who detest it though, they see it as being almost blasphemous. Am I missing something here?
Cyc; great artist and great song however my favourite vesion/cover is by Brandi Carlile with the Seattle Synphony Orchestra. It is f....n' stunningly beautiful! There is also a 'live' clip with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra.
Just a bit of smooth jazz for the evening sometime...."On Days Like These" (from "The Italian Job") on sax - Matt Stacey", followed by some nice stuff from Paul Hardcastle:
For jazz lovers check out Richie Coles version of New York afternoon with Eddie Jefferson . Don't think you'll get footage of this online, but you lot never fail to surprise me
Cyc I don't know where you found that but you have made me very happy. From a very rare album that I used to treasure. Thank you and enjoy everyone
