Love the positivity at the moment!

But we're only one loss away from 'we should have got another striker, our ,infield have no goals in them, Fonte's past it'........ we all know it's true!

One more thing i'll add about my prediction is that people didn't believe me when I said in March that we would finish above West Ham last season...

I think the criticism of Martina's position for their goal is harsh.

When you see replay from wider angle, he thinks Saints have won the ball back and starts to push up quickly. He'd have had so much space to attack, with Sane not bothering to track. Unfortunately City got the ball and put it straight in behind him.

But I don't think he was 'just stood unaware' of Sane, his gamble to attack just didn't pay off

I don't think Claude does that. He'll put out a team that could/should win the game. Expecting to see Boufal, JWP etc.

I realize its only 3 games, but mcqueen really suits the style of play better that Targett. McQueen is naturally more attack minded, whereas targett would suit a more 442 Tony Puel type team

I'd place the League Cup above the FA Cup as a priority for now. We could be in a semi and in ko rounds of EL by the time the FA Cup comes round, in which case I'd quite happily bin it!

But do we stick with Romeu and Tadić against Sunderland? They are the ones who need rest the most as they're starting every match for us. But leaving them on the bench would weaken our chances significantly.

    No.

Virgil, Romeu, Tadic & Austin are the ones who need a rest without doubt.

Romeu certainly looked shattered at the end of the match.

This. I'd also add Martina and potentially McQueen to that list.

Bring in Yoshida, Stephens, Reed, Boufal and Jay. Possibly JWP in for Davis as well.

McQueen probably could do with a rest as 3 games in a week at this level is a lot for a player who's just come through.

It does kinda depend on the fitness of our other FB's though.

We may have won today but some of that is still true and some of us are still pointing it out. I don't think Fonte's past it but he's not a youngster any more and there is a noticeable drop in quality from Fonte to Yoshida so I'd rather we'd bought someone in the summer to challenge for a first team place. We do need another striker and we don't currently score enough goals from midfield (Boufal may alter that, we'll see).

Minimum requirement 12 wins out of 12 or Puel has to go

Yep play them, get two goals up give them a rest, when you are on a good run tiredness is less of an issue
