Lucas always has the brilliance to keep himself between the man and the ball, he rarely gives it away.
2-0. Joe Cole free-kick,Kuyt pounced from close range,he was given the goal, but I'm unsure on whether maybe Soto got a touch. Good disciplined performance by Liverpool. Far better defensively than we've been recently. This is the main reason why I wasn't worried about the other games, I had a feeling that the errors would be ironed out. Its seems like they are being ironed out.
Full time. Good performance. The one we needed. Valencia finished 3rd last year which gives you some perspective. Special mention to Kelly who looks the real deal.
Good result just before the start of the season. Good football against a top Spanish team topped off with a couple of goals and a much needed clean sheet. Confidence should be high going into next weeks opener and with Suarez still to come back things are looking good.
B4F. Martin Kelly is a real player, then again John Flanagan and Jack Robinson seem to be of the same ilk, possibly without the experience as of yet,but that will come. If any player coming through the ranks want to make it,they should follow the examples of these three and Jay Spearing of course. He's come on leaps and bounds under Kenny.
Agreed. We have a lot of good young players who can now use the likes of Kelly as a role model of how to break through.
Good result i thought that Downing had really good game they all did positive all round There were times during the games where we were in control and looked dangerous Valencia did give us a game but the one player who was not there was Mata he was on the pitch but had no impact on the game Good game can't wait for next week BRING IT ON
Totally agree with that and it's got to give the other young players the incentive and belief that they will get their chances if their attitudes are right. Not going to get carried away with the result today but it is a good way to sign off pre season against a top quality team and for me the most important things today were the improvement at the back and the definate signs of increased sharpness and match fitness. Roll on next weekend

This is my opinion. Possibly the reason why the likes of Tom Ince(who has departed) and David Amoo have been over-looked is because even though they've got skill, they don't apply themselves. Maybe their atitude and application was/is all wrong. One player who was over-looked but may be spared is Nathan Eccleston, maybe just maybe he has decided to go back to basics,he's currently involved with the reserves and is doing quite well the last I saw. Maybe just maybe he may get a chance to impress. Whether he has a future is a different story especially with the progress Raheem Sterling at the tender age of 16 is making.
Good game. Solid defense, players starting to gel and get match fit. Hopefully we can play as well against the mackems. YNWA
I don't think he is joining the goonies. I can't see Arsene paying the £26+ million that Valencia want, even if they sell Nasri and Fibreglass.
Got the last three minutes recorded, had to leave for work D: Aurelio was outstanding, Carroll put in a shift, aqualani needed to be on the ball more, whole team outstanding. Cole tried the flick pass off the heel one too many times, but otherwise no complaints here. Looking good!
I counted them into the Panic Room last week and I counted them out last night. They left rather sheepishly, dropping their Mata shirts in a bag for the homeless as they went.
