Maybe our team is **** innit. If we can concede at least 4 playing 6 at the back, just wonder how many we would've shipped had we tried to play more attacking football? Thank you Jose and Fellaini's career counselor too.
People keep saying lack of experience yet you will not find anyone with more experience than LVG or Jose, Moyes had a very, very good rep at Everton. They all failed/failing so far. Giggs, Butt, Scholes and P Neville couldn't do no worse surely?
With the squad that we have, I don't think any manager could do worse right now. But no point crying at this point in time. We are six points off pace and there is still plenty of games to play once the hysteria does down.
It's not just about the manager though. Moyes was out of his depth but perhaps should have been given time to build his own team. LVG just played cumbersome, pointless possession football. Mourinho may be defensive, but at least the ethos is to move the ball forward. When I hear people (especially pundits) compare his football to LVG's style it's lazy analysis and completely brain dead. So for me, it's a range of managers we've had and sometimes it's been the manager's fault, but sometimes it's the players. Today, it's been both. Mourinho should be playing his best 11 in their natural position (that means Pogba is NOT an attacking midfielder) and Shaw plays at LB. But nevertheless the players need to take a lot of blame. They've been gutless. I can't fault the Chelsea team, they've been brilliant in both attitude and ability. We've been pathetic in attitude and ability.
I'd like to see -----------Carrick---------Herrera/Pogba--------- Lingaard----------Mata-------------Martial --------------------Rashford-------------
Just to add, what's surprised me more than anything is a complete lack of any game plan from us today. What was the system? **** knows. Maybe whatever the gameplan was, it went out the window after the first goal and that's why the rest of that game we looked clueless?
---------Pogba---------Herrera--------- Lingard-----------Mata-------------Martial --------------------Rashford------------- or ----------Pogba-------Schwein Mikhi----------Herrera-------Martial -----------------Rashford or ------------Pogba------ Carrick Mikhi------------Herrera-----Martial ----------------Rashford or Mikhi-------Schwein-------Pogba Rashford-----Ibrah---------Martial It's ridiculous the options we have... and none require Fellaini!
That's the problem with pragmatists like Mou. When it goes wrong, it seems horribly wrong. And watching Fellaini slow everything down by seemingly wandering aimlessly makes it more frustrating. Thus I'd rather have a deep lying playmaker, who is always recycling the ball and trying to create sth than a midfield just for the sake of destruction and bulldozing the opponent. But then, he's our manager so all we can and should do is wait and watch.
Our worst purchase ever. Not because he's a bad player, but because he's featured so much over the last 3 years
Without doubt he's one of them. But you can't blame him for the managers picking him. A **** player should be sold or rot in the reserves, not be starting against two of your rivals.
