I f Saints came away from the etihad with a yellow for time wasting West Brom will be lucky to finish with 6 men when they go there
The flag went up as soon as the ball got to where Aguero was standing. So unless they conferred with each other afterwards that was all down to the assistant and well played to him for that. It would've been easy to have turned a blind eye to that.
Boufal's footwork is amazing. But he'll need time to get used to english football - if you dwell on the ball, you lose it.
Southampton are an inspirational football club. Despite losing key players & managers every season, they don't just sit around feeling sorry for themselves, they just get on with it & continue to improve year on year. Great club ! From a Stoke Forum (one of my friends is a stokie).
Wasn't able to see the game today but followed it on 5Live. I think that Alan Green is a bit of a Saints fan on the quiet, or he's an incredibly neutral but positive for the "smaller" clubs commentator. I do wish he'd say Fraser's name right, though! Excellent result for us, now to dish out a pasting against Sunderland mid-week.
I like where we are...we are a good team which is pleasing to the eye and keeps us fans happy, but we are not so full of ourselves that we expect to win every game and sulk if we don't. A happy position to be in.
Couldn't watch any longer at the end so I took the dog out with 10 minutes to go. We held on for a great point and I'm taking some of the credit for that.
Went down hard with his studs on Romeu's ankle, quite deliberately. Ref didn't see it. Romeu got booked himself for a revenge tackle a couple of minutes later
Thought the ref was a bit colour blind. Classiest was booked for a innocuous tackle whereas Kompany and Gundogan could both have gotten reds for really nasty fouls. I suspect Saints players would have had an early bath. Good result overall after a hard week. Classiest makes Davies look like a sharpshooter. Computer is writing Classiest not me. Must be one of them smart thingies
