Absoluter sickener. Last meaningful kick, and off-side.
Don't see a way back from this shambles of a season now, 1/4 of the way through and 2 points.
Our lives about to be well and truly used up.
    **** off Short

My first game of the season that. I was sat in with the West Ham fans. We could and should have won that. The bunch of hammers around me were genuinely concerned we'd beat them. We were really unlucky. As bad as it looks, there is hope. Mind they looked awful too.

My further disappointment is that I always forget to put a bet on when these obvious and most predictable scenarios arise. I would be rolling in it if I'd bet on them all over the years.
E.G. QPR - lose all first 11 away games -- cue Sunderland
    etc
    etc
(how many can we list ?)
Player X hasn't scored since Victoria ruled - give him a game against us

Give us a (supposedly) easier game against another crap bottom side the week following a great performance (eg 3-0 away at Chelsea or 3-0 at the Mags) and expect that even with not quite that same standard we should be comfortable -- no, make the other side into world beaters.

Not one for complaining about officials but that was a mistake to allow their goal. The linesman was perfectly placed to see them offside and one player jumps over the ball immediately in front of Pickford.

For all there was two poor teams on show today that mistake and Khazri's miss led to that loss.

One of the things that struck me most was how slow we were to close players down. With a bit more intensity and a bit more pressure on the ball I think we could have given West Ham more problems. Several players looked like they were running through treacle.
For the first part of the second half were pouring forward on the break and looked like we might have got something that way but, as ever, there was some poor decision making. I thought Gooch for Watmore would improve that but we actually went backwards when he came on.
Damn shame Khazri didn't put his chance away.

I'm going to work on the assumption that we're going to lose every game and get relegated so I won't be disappointed if we do just that. I'm also going to assume that we're not going to spend any significant money in January.

Anything that happens that contradicts that will be a pleasant surprise.

Go along with the Watmore/Gooch change as we lost our edge down the left. Pienaar had run his legs off but as the game went on Khazri was dwelling on the ball too long and slowing down our breaks allowing them to get back.

With those changes I reckon DM was looking for the win.

Losing like that is the worst feeling in football....you deserved the minimum of a draw but like us who should have beat Watford we cant buy a win.....The one good thing is that we are both having our bad luck early and will surely improve while others still have to go on their bad run which they will for sure while i can see us maybe in the bottom half but safe when the season ends....ktf

    I'm ****ing sick, however...

I'll stick by the lads through thick and thin. Premiership/Championship I'll be there supporting.

You don't just pick and choose when to support your team, they need it when it's the worst.

    They need it now.

For the lads who are saying we should stick with the manager this time round somehow I can't see us with In David we trust banners when we go down with 2 points.

I watched this game at Jerry's house.
She was gutted while I was completely nonchalant.
    We're Sunderland - it's what we do.

Totally agree, Billy. It really was thecase that we were going to concede in the last few minutes. Surprised? Not at all. As a Sunderland fan, you just get used to the inevitable

Once again bother after the game,

How come the dildo twins havent got to pay for policing? Surely thats all part of the Safety Certificate for crowd control inside AND outside until the crowd have dispersed?
My take on it is lets invade there next season whether we are in this division or not and go there and give the c*nts a right kicking. I bet the place would be swarming with police if a few extra trains were put on from here.
Will it be wait until somebody is killed before theres any action?

We will get more than 2 points.
We will get at least 8 and possibly 9 if we carry on at 2 points per 9 games.
However, if we now start playing at Champions League qualifying level for the rest of the season we're safe.
