Explain how you as a player justify your fee? Shirt sales, yes. Recouped the money no problem. What else, his ability as a footballer? Well seeing as the money's been recouped no problem, he has plenty of time to justify it.

Did Utd by him to sell shirts?, Di maria and Falcao sold plenty of shirts for man u but were gone as soon as it became clear they weren't up for the job, Pogba is no different, is he?

Once the money is recouped the price becomes redundant.

As for the football. Well the price tag means little. Neither does the first 7 games of any quality player's career at a club. Evra and Vidic were slated as flops in their first season. Price nor a handful of games dictated how good they were going to be.

Trebs, tbf you're going back to a time when Utd were a stabilised successful club under a manager that was proven at Utd for years, since he left the same logic and rules don't apply.

If in doubt ask Moyes and LvG(and interim manager Giggs).<ok>

I thought we were talking about players not managers? And if you're pointing to stability, you're only confirming that as Mourinho will need time to settle therefore the players (incl Pogba) will also. So why write him off now?

BTW when Evra and Vidic came in we were being written off as a club in decline <laugh> And unsurprisingly much like today that was the driving force for writing off both of them in their first 5 months.

Ahh, I'm writing him off so far, you're the one looking into his unknown future at OT and predicting success, surely any supporter of a different club(or Utd)has the right to disagree with your opinion?

United sold a total of under 3 million shirts last season.

It's highly unlikely he's paid for himself in shirt sales yet. Even if he had, how many of those shirts would have been sold anyway but with a different name on the back.

It'll be a decade before the money is recouped on just shirtsales.

Pogba is a decent player and it might take him a while to fully settle in at Utd (even though he's played there before)

But the £89m price tag is ludicrous, and it's a classic example of Maureen trying to buy his way out of trouble. It's clumsy, unsophisticated and a little bit desperate.

If Liverpool had spent £89m on him, Utd fans would be ripping the piss out of it.

It has been revealed by Adidas that Manchester United shirts with ‘Pogba 6’ on the back have blown away records for fans purchasing them – by generating almost £200 million since the first week of August.

Mourinho like any manager doesnt dictate the price, he's building a team. one that includes our academy players as well as purchases. Our midfield is excellent. Once it clicks, and it will, I'm confident we'll see just how good Pogba is. To write him off after 7-10 games (several of which he's played well in) is ridiculous.

It's potentially excellent if you don't play Fellaini or Rooney. I don't think he knows his best team yet.

Yeh agree. Fellaini can **** off in particular. But I think until Mourinho is confident of getting the players to play his system the way he wants it's an easy (perhaps cop out) option for him to stick Fellaini in, in certain games.

Btw we still have Mikhi to play or are ppl writing him off after 1 game?

Been away so only just seen the United goals from Thursday. Cracking strikes by Pogba and Lingard.

Someone mentioned two dives for the penalties. That person should stick to watching netball!

So why are you on here trying to big him up from day 1 then? At least give him time to settle before turning him into the greatest premiership player ever!

    Link?

And how do you know how much of that '£ 200 mill' you get?

Could only be 5% of it for instance. Might be none until a certain figure is reached.

    [

200 mill sales is not 200 mill profit. How much of that goes to Adidas for example. How much to resellers. How many of those shirts would have been sold anyway with a different name.

It does seem unrealistic too considering they sold 3 mill shirts total last year, and everyone knew it was a bit of a silly transfer before it happened.
