    500 posts and counting.

Now that's what I call a successful match thread <applause>

At least we didn't lose. Which could have been a possibility with Burnley getting a head of steam up.

Right off to the Brasenose Arms in Cropredy to see the Cohen Brothers.

I have just arrived home to see the result. All things considered, whether we lost a two goal lead or not there are a number of positives that have come out of the game.

    1. We didn't lose.
    2. Sean Dyche didn't lose his first proper match.
    3. The team gelled, eventually.
    4. Last season Burnley beat us twice and scored six goals in doing it, they won't beat us twice this term.
    5. We are not in a relegation spot, where I think most "knowledgeable" pundits would have us.
    6. Two of the new boys scored goals.

The bad point is we threw a two goal lead.

    Spot on.

Interesting to note that all three promoted clubs will win today, unless Southampton throw away a three goal lead.

Saints MT has gone through 600 but has both sides contributing , its working well, no reason a 1000 post MT shouldnt be achieved!

I think F1 managed a 1,000 post (event) thread for the Canadian Grand Prix, but then a two hour delay during a two hour race in the evening did help its cause somewhat.

    Watford-Hull should set the bar.

A good match thread covering the failure of 3CR to get the right plug in the right hole, the way that some of our new signings gradually got to grips with the game, the joy of a two goal lead and the despair of letting it slip. The tension of 4 added minutes and the fact that we do not have to suffer the Burnley commentators. It was all there, even the sound of a hail storm of the roof of the stand.

Even as someone who doesn't subscribe, and even in the knowledge that it probably won't result in financial compensation to those affected, I really hope the club statement implying that something will be done leads to something.

The PPPs that the BBC has with the likes of HornetsPlayer are absolutely vital. Without them, I fear that one day there will not be commentary for every Watford game, as without that partnership it won't be deemed either commercially viable or justifiable for the BBC alone to bear the cost.

NNW, I have subscribed to the the Hornet Player for several years now as it is a way for me to keep in touch. 3CR certainly had technical issues with the equipement that they used in my early days, but to be fair they have done something that stops all of the dreadful dropouts that we used to get in commentary.

As far as I am aware a deal was done between the FL or FA with premium tv to supply the service for 15 years. That company then pays 3CR to provide the service. I complained to PTV about the bad service and they extended my contract with them by giving me a "free" week. Today however it was clearly down to 3CR.

I am very pleased that the club are taking this on board. I e-mailed them this afternoon along with many others. For it to happen on the first game has to be really annoying for them as they do not want a service that they advertise to be rubbish.

Speaking of rubbish, we should all be very grateful that we have Jon Marks. Having listened today to the Burnley commentators and some from other clubs in the past, Jon stands head and shoulders above the rest.

One reason I have not subscribed ,because I see the cock ups they make here! If they could guarantee me a good service I would sign up tomorrow!

I just have this thing against incompetence!!!

Nine times out of ten in 2011 it has been very good Norway. Today the program started an hour before the match with some good chat, eg Ross Wilson. I am sure the club are furious because it is not the first time that they have had to apologize for something that they don't control.

I still think it suspicious that 3CR are based in Lut*n.

Maybe, but then you would lose Jon Marks and he is pure gold compared to some.
