Strangely I think the back four is less of a problem than the rest of the team. Rangel, VDH, Amat and Naughton. Amat has played well with VDH and I think Kingsley still needs to be nursed into the team. We don't know what Mawson brings to the table yet so he and Kingsley on the bench. Two of Britton, Cork and Fulton to start with the odd one out on the bench. One of Fer ang Siggy to make up the remainder of the midfield three. Barrow and whilst Montero is unfit Routledge, in spite of his loss of pace, out wide. I would start Borja up top with Llorente to come on later when his lack of pace will not matter so much and his greater experience will be an asset. I am sure I read amongst the million of words that Borja has played out wide. So replacing Routledge with Llorente and moving Borja out wide would be the way to go for the last half an hour. I'm not paid megabucks to choose the team but have just posted my personal opinion and am sure the rest of you have your own.

Interesting ..With this in mind I would start LLorente up top and start Baston in Routs spot for a few games .

    Lawro says:

Swansea were decent in last week's win at Arsenal and played well in patches, although their better stuff came when the game had already gone away from them.

The Swans are going to find it more difficult when they have to take the initiative in games, especially against a Watford side that only got their first clean sheet of the season last weekend against Middlesbrough, but do not concede many goals.

I am going for a draw, which would be a far better result for Watford than it would be for Swansea.

    Lawro's prediction: 1-1

So you would play a centre forward on the wing who has little or no pace and has probably never played out wide, a player who thrives on balls being whipped into the box, a player who scored 90% of his goals in the 18 yard box in place of a winger playing on the wing, talk about square pegs in round holes. That makes great sense.

The problem is we have only two fit wingers i.e. Barrow and Routledge. Routledge appears to have lost the pace to go outside his fullback so if he is subbed someone is going to have to play out of position. The only other option is to play Naughton upfield with Kingsley or Taylor behind him or vice versa.

I would rather see an attack minded full back who is used to playing out wide there than a Centre forward who needs to be in the box. If we had to do it I would go with Kingsley at FB and Naughton in front of him or the other way around. That is if we have to.

Inside word is that Baston is by far the best footballer at the Club - by miles. Maybe that shouldn't be a surprise, I don't know. We've yet to see the best of him so let's hope it starts tomorrow. <ok>
