Now in the Reindeer and having a half of Oakham Blue Skies @ 6℅ - definitely worth trying!! <cheers>

Now sat outside St Andrews Brewhouse with a pint of Cork Cutters - A very hoppy ale which combines a mixture of British, European and American hops to give a floral citrussy aroma with long lasting hints of grapefruit. <cheers>

Friends of mine, Dave and Lynne, moved from Weston to Salfleet about 6 years ago, Lynne has just posted that the best chippy in Norfolk is the Kingfisher in Walcott! Anybody know it?

I've googled it and while it won't be getting any Michelin Stars, the fish and chips are well presented and it has a lot of complimentary feedback!

No, I don't normally go to that part of the coast - tend to go more to Overstrand/West Runton/Holkham.

Very well presented Dave, they come on a silver platter, which is rare! <laugh>

Though I head mainly to North Norfolk these days, my dear old dad always used to take us to Happisburgh / Walcott / Bacton. I still go occasionally through habit and can confirm their fare is of a high standard.

Sadly, last time I went, we were attacked by midges, as were our F&Cs so not a good experience. I do not hold the proprietors responsible in any way!

Was in the Glass House for a bit on Saturday evening and had several pints of Peaky Blinders - a black IPA. Very light but flavoursome. Definitely recommend it if you like your beers dark.

Blow me down! I was in there an hour ago, saw that and wrinkled my nose up (not a fan of xmas pudding in a glass!) But the Greenjack Mahseer IPA at £2.45 a pint was truly divine :emoticon-0152-heart

I've just joined CAMRA, so got my £20 of Wetherspoon's vouchers and I much prefer the lighter coloured ales such as Ghost Ship, Bishop's Farewell etc. <cheers>

I'll drink near anything to be honest. I have even enjoyed one mild though I'm not a fan of most. I tend to go lighter in the summer including disco piss in proper hot weather.

    Bah!

A small sample of the beers on offer in the foreign beers bar at this year's Norwich Beer Festival 24th 29th Oct -
Coopers 5.8 37.5cl Spritzy golden ale balancing fruity malt with lasting hops
Little Creatures 5.2 37.5cl Hop-laden golden ale with loads of character. A gem from down under
Stift Engelszell 9.7 33cl Sweet with honey but caramel liquorice & roast flavours mix with dry fruit notes to a warming alcohol finish
3 Fourquets 8.5 Draught Sweetish triple well rounded by gently spicy hopping
3 Fourquets 8.5 75cl Smooth & spritzy brown with gentle caramel notes blended with a hint of aniseed
Achel 8.0 33cl Well-made, tasty blonde triple from the newest of the Belgian Trappist breweries
Achel 8.0 33cl Firm, balanced Trappist brown of distinction
Achouffe 9.0 33cl/Draught Straw gold & ultra-hoppy in the modern US style. Classy with a massive hop punch
Achouffe 8.0 33cl Initial orange citrus on the nose passes over the tongue, caressing the palate to leave a glorious lingering aftertaste
Achouffe 8.5 33cl Strong dark ale from well respected village brewery in the Ardennes
Alvinne 8.0 Draught Wood aged with Cherries, a Master Beer Cicerone
Alvinne 11.0 Draught Wood aged smoked peach beer, rich, dark and hides its alcoholic level well. Only available in 3rds or Halves
Anker 8.5 Draught Full sweet and port-like chestnut-coloured ale with warming raisin finish
Anker 8.0 Draught A modern day Belgian IPA, good balance of sweet malt with 4 different hops to give aroma and bitterness
Bavik 8.5 Draught Full on cherry aroma with controlled sweet & sour fruit flavours
Bon Secours 6.4 Draught It’s really unlike anything I’ve had before. Blueberries, bubblegum, parma violets.. it’s all there.
Boon 5.0 37.5cl Intense raspberry fruit backed by delicate young lambic with a hint of cherry
Boon 5.0 Draught Lambic based cherry beer lightly sweetened to enhance strong fruit flavours
Boon 6.5 37.5cl Intense cherry fruit on a full lambic base
Bosteels 8.4 33cl/Draught Spritzy 3 grain triple which develops distinctly pleasant apricot notes
Brouwerij Affligem / De Smedt (Heineken) 6.7 33cl Award winning blond Belgian beer. Notes of Bananas, yeast and soft rich fruits. A gentle spice with some nutty notes with a full mouthfeel.
Chimay 9.0 33cl Soft, dark Trappist ale which gains some complexity with age
Chimay 4.8 33cl This beer was originally kept for only the Trappist Monks to drink as their daily tipple. A taste of history.
Chimay 7.0 33cl Ruddy coloured, lighter bodied Trappist ale
Chimay 8.0 Draught Golden Trappist tripel. Initial candy notes lead to final bitterness
Chimay 8.0 Draught a glass of hops, malt, banana and yellow fruit, ends dry with a clean palette

Looking at some of the ABVs - #serioushangovers

Well, I'd been over to see my brother this afternoon who lives in Long Stratton and had fish and chips from the Chip Inn and I have to say that I was very impressed.
It's very close between that at the Stafford Street chippy, but I still prefer theirs, as I think their chips are very slightly better.
