Guaranteed good ground was the reason. He's going to run once more at Fontwell and then the aim is the Open meet at HQ and then tucked away until springtime Mullholland said on ATR.

Moon Racer @ 16/1 will surely go this race (if injury free) intresting connections kept him on the flat when coming back from injury on his second run! Ran creditably on defeat after such a long time off surely with out any interruption he will be a hard horse to beat on the day

That's a big if with Moon Racer and you wonder if the injury may have just taken the edge off him. If not then agree it's a big price.

If Augusta Kate stays fit I think she will be fave for the mares novice hurdle and at 10-1 worth a look.

Senewalk is the Supreme Fav, here he is winning on the flat in France (red silks). Gone to Mullins. Out of Walk In The Park, like Douvan and Min.

I’ll nominate one so dark those bookie chappies aren’t even quoting prices re the beast. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…Cosmeapolitan in the 2017 Triumph Hurdle.

The old boy has been most progressive on the level this term and won The Derby at Newbury (of the Ladies variety) by 10 lengths last time. Now perched on 90 he runs again at the weekend. Cosmeapolitan will then have his attentions turned to timber in the Autumn. Outstanding prospect.

What price would you be looking for SBC re Cosmeapolitan?

Im going to ask 365 to price it up and also ask for US Army Ranger!! hahah

Given that the race is over 6 months away and that he’s yet to jump a hurdle in a race, I guess, 20/1+.

The upside to the bet is, of course, that Cosmeapolitan is one of the best prospects around, he is already ‘battle hardened’, very few will be coming off the Flat with such a high perch and he’s barned at one of the best stables around when it comes to handling juvenile hurdlers.

Must confess I do, Bob. Especially at this stage of the term when each horse is like a blank canvass and it doesn’t take much to argue that they could be very good (after a couple of runs, however, with 95%+ plus of them this ceases to be the case but right now it’s a different story!). You also had the added ingredient of total mystery, and the unknown, in that a 100 rated horse from the Flat can be useless over timber and a 60 rated horse brilliant. Plus, how will those with no experience whatsoever of racing, thus far, get on?!?

I'm not a massive Triumph fan but would rather have that than another handicap

Time to bump this thread with some of this season's hopefuls getting their first runs.

I'll take a long shot at Douvan 12/1 for the Gold Cup after Patrick Mullins said he'll be upped in trip as the season goes on.

And I'll double it with Yorkhill in the Arkle 7/1. Patrick said he would love to see him in the Arkle but they haven't decided wether he'll stick to hurdles or go chasing.

Alpha Des Obeaux will surely be aimed at the Rsa. Had a punt at 12/1 before he was declared to run today.

Ballyoptic could be worth siding with in the World hurdle. Most of those in the market are likely to go elsewhere. Will also have something on Jezki. Both 16/1.

    I'll risk the following:
    Annie Power (7/2) Champion Hurdle
Sprinter Sacre (5) Queen Mother Champion Chase

So on Monday of festival week you'll be unsure of whether he'll be in the 4 miler, RSA, JLT (whatever it's called now), or the Arkle <laugh>

The very reason I can't stand him. I think he actively puts punters away and that the yard punt and lay his horses with the foreknowledge, especially antepost.

I feel like it's an exclusive and closed circle at that yard. And the connections (Rich Ricci) no better. Vautours last minute switch was a disgrace, and then you've got Annie Power- who if fate hadn't intervened would be retiring as a Mares Hurdle winner untested against the elite hurdlers in the Champion.

He's a fantastic trainer with brilliant horses, but in my view he is terrible with the people.

Quit the riddles and the Bullshiit Willy.
