  4. Former England midfielder Jermaine Jenas, 33, says he rejected offers from Manchester United and Leeds to sign for Newcastle as an 18-year-old. (BT Sport Score, via Daily Star)

    Ouch!

“I might have gone into the reserves, got paid loads of good money and just been comfortable"

Isn't that what he did at Spurs?

In fairness to Jenas, he says he didn't go to Utd as he didn't think he was good enough to compete with Keane, Butt and Scholes.

    Good call. He wasn't <ok>

"People always remember the last 30 minutes of a game but before that I was confident City were in the game.
They have just been punished for three sloppy errors when you play Barcelona, make them score, don't give them a gift.
I don't think it has been a 4-0 game. The only difference is Barcelona have been ruthless in taking their chances."

That is Phil Nevile on BBC text.

Wtf is wrong with all the City love. They loose by 4-0 and people are still giving them some fkin credit. I swear it feels like a conspiracy.

    No, though not.

I take it you mean in the media. Surprised by the result, only because I expected Pep to do better against a club he knows inside out.

    Course I do.

They'll get slated for being crap. Like we were for being good at it.

Lapped up by the lemmings, laughable.

I haven't seen the highlights of the City game yet (except the final goal) but up against Barcas front three of Neymar, Messi and Suarez it's not exactly surprising if the defense struggled.

Strange though it may sound, Neymar, Messi and Suarez were very subdued tonight and played well within themselves.

I wasn't expecting City to win (or even draw) but I am surprised by the 4-0 drubbing as I thought Pep would have some idea of how to set up against them (even if he did fall short in the final result).

I see the Man City arse lickers are out in force today, not one pundit has had a go at them for their defending in last night's game.
