It comes back to what was discussed a day or two back, mate. The way the laws are at the moment, the 'Nimbys' can hold up planning applications indefinitely.

Until a Gvt gets a coherent house building programme going and tells the Nimbys to go **** themselves, nothing will change.

It wasn't about planning tbf mate, it was a simple matter of resource.

Building houses for the sale or private rental market isn't the issue, it's the simple fact that little new social housing is being built and they're continuing to sell it off without replacing the stock. So every year the problem is getting worse, as private rents are going up, and are beyond the reach of the low paid.

Even if its social housing, and actually even more likely with social housing, because a lot of Nimbys least like that, wherever they choose to build, up pop the Nimbys and their solicitors chucking injunctions in all directions.

Unless they can show a failure to follow planning law then the planning inspectorate can and will approve applications.

You probably know more than I do, Steven. But it seems to me, that one way or another these people and their lawyers always seem to be able to delay these applications almost indefinitely.

Our top 10 Brexit fears revealed

A new poll by VoucherCodesPro has revealed people's top ten fears about leaving the European Union.

According to the poll, more than two thirds of voters did not understand the full impact of Brexit at the time of voting. The poll included 2,089 Britons aged 18 or over and the ten most common worries were:

    1. European foods may be banned/unavailable in the UK e.g. croissants, Gouda cheese - 17 per cent
    2. Britons will be banned from living abroad - 17 per cent
    3. European drinks/alcohol will be banned/unavailable in the UK e.g. Prosecco, Cava, Champagne - 16 per cent
    4. Pupils will not be taught European languages at school – 15 per cent
    5. Britons will be banned from travelling abroad - 14 per cent
    6. Foreign students will no longer be able to study in the UK - 14 per cent
    7. Products will not be held to such high safety standards - 12 per cent
    8. The UK will eventually be ruled by the Scottish government - 11 per cent
    9. Drivers will have to drive on the opposite side of the road - 9 per cent
    10. All those not born in the UK will have to leave - 8 per cent

If that number of people actually believed some of the ludicrous assertions there, I despair!.

It just shows that the country's entire future may well have been decided by a lot of brain deads who hadn't got a ****ing clue what they were actually voting for!

Call a spade a spade : these things are SUBSISTENCE not BENEFITS.
The welfare system provides subsistence to those whose circumstances
(redundancy, ill health etc) is currently preventing them from financially existing
on their own two feet as they were before the event.

Subsistence is by definition never supposed to maintain you in a far better financial
state than what you can get from your own efforts.

You want to jail the unemployed? I'd be interested in seeing the criminal offence that would need to be created

    Amazing!
The first post I ever read from you said you couldn't tell the difference between parody and reality. I thought you were joking so posted that only a moron would think that. You have now proved beyond reasonable doubt that you actually are a moron!
