... the Brandenburg Gate is not too far away from the places I mentioned ... indeed I got there on a Sunday and me and one of the girls on the course did a big circle from the hotel that took in the Brabdenburg Gate, Hitler's Bunker and Checkpoint Charlie (plus views of the wall) before going back to the hotel ... fair old walk but very doable if you include a few watering hole stops ... you'll love it <ok>

    Nice sounds good!

Have considered to a tour to incorporate basically that lot. Maybe a flak tower as well.

    Yes, went there yesterday. Stunning.

The various monuments are currently being restored to their original state so the Trevi Fountain is now brilliant white again. The Colloseum is next at a cost of 25 million euros.

The work is being funded by the fashion houses and other corporates.

I wonder whether the British government could get Sir Philip Green to do similar.

A good chunk of leave voters were middle class, and not the left as people seem to suggest.

    No ****.

Seriously, is this a spoof Kustard account? No one can genuinely be this clueless.

This referendum wasn't Left vs Right.

I am pretty damn Left Wing, and my brother is pretty damn Right Wing. I voted Leave, he voted Remain.
One of my friends is a closet Trump supporter, and although he is suitably ashamed enough of that fact to hide it, he is pretty Right Wing, he voted Leave.
My mums family, all voted leave, but unfortunately they all fall into the "Facking ragheads taking our jobs tha Cahnts!" Bracket, and voted in complete ignorance.

The jobs that they wouldn't lower themselves to do!

Too many of those, and they swung the vote.

whoever thinks that? I thought the issue was eastern europeans taking the jobs
voting leave wouldn't make any difference to asians getting jobs

Because they'd done well enough to retire at a young age. I love the fact that that riles you. Clearly in your world you are king but in the real world you're a garage dwelling failure pushing retirement age.

This is where the Gov must get hard with the unemployed, make them work or no benefits.

    It is hard to generalise.

However it was a bit more clear cut with the people I know.

All my local friends who are sort of middle ground politically all voted leave.

Grandparents voted leave - "we didn't fight two wars to be controlled by Brussels" was their stance.

Most of my old university friends voted remain and a lot of them are very lefty and big Corbyn followers.

The odd person I know voted leave but mainly as they didn't want to rock the boat as opposed to any strong opinions.

    Depends why they are unemployed.
If they are fit to work and are just lazy, then yes.
If they have a disability or some other mitigating factor that would stop them from working, then no.

of course, I think people realise that the disabled have enough on their plate without having to work unless it's to keep them active and interested

That's fair enough. But there are many who won't 'lower themselves' to do the menial work that they complain about the foreigners taking.
