Very happy to say that here in the US, Fox Sports are showing the whole match live in Full HD. How's that ? Will be one happy camper tomorrow afternoon. Feet up, beer in hand. Can't beat actually being there though. Very jealous!!
I'd take 0-0. Good Italian scoreline, and we remain unbeaten in Europa. Would prefer 0-1 though, obvs. Sans Siro nos espera (Spanish, & nicked it from Oriel, but it has to be close to the Italian for "San Siro is waiting for us")
6 years ago Inter Milan were winning the Champions League and Saints were in League One and winning the JPT. #somejourney
Today is the day. I am like a kid on Christmas this morning, woke up before the alarm. Don't envy the early starts some of you have had, do envy the early morning pint though Brixham. Gonna head to the airport around 9, calm as you like. Chills will run down my spine when, "We are Southampton, we've come from league one" echoes around the San Siro. What a moment of pride for everyone connected to Southampton football club. COYR
I am impatiently and excitedly anticipating the game with butterflies in my stomach and I have not felt like this in a long time.
Matchday!! The day is here... still can't quite believe this match is happening but we march on indeed. Time to leave the hotel and find some other red & whites. Up the Saints!! P.s. o2 haven't sorted my calls internet out yet so might have to wait till later/tomorrow to post pics etc.
Would anybody else be slightly disappointed with anything less than a win? I know that seems stupid at first. When I initially read the fixture list I had this down as a home win but a draw would be fantastic. It's just considering both teams form, atmosphere within the clubs and the fact both the other teams in the group comfortably beat them - we should be too!
Don't get me wrong, would adore a win and circumstantially / based on form we could get one. However, I feel the media are slightly underestimating Inter, they have immense quality. Form is temporary, class is permanent and all that. Also realistically they also have to get a result today to be in with any chance of progressing through the group and with De Boer under pressure, I can't see them fielding anything other than their strongest 11. But with that being said, we have looked solid of late and are creating chances like nobody's business, we just have to take them. I wouldn't be disappointed with less than a win, but wouldn't it be great?
Shows how far we've come when I was talking to my friend about the game and the first thing he said was "Inter? You should win that one".
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...tml?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 Claude saying he doesn't know his best team because he has such a good squad.....sadly not in one position today, I would suggest. However, he is right....he has been able to switch around and still have the team play as normal. I don't think we have one bad player or even one player that makes you wince when his name is read out....am really pleased with our squad.
I know what you mean but it's a victory just being here in many senses. It's do or die for Inter. Lose and they're out. Win and they can start a recovery in group and will be squeaky bum time for us!
http://www.thesackrace.com/news/20th-october-2016/saints-onto-a-winner-picking-puel-over-de-boer Article saying that we should be mightily relieved we got Puel rather than de Boer. Horses for courses and Les Reed knows who we are and what we need (may not always be what we want).
